Well, radios are in place: Peilfunk station: Is it correct? The actual contemporary photo: And communication radio station: Of course, this is of more "generic" layout...

Right you are windrunner, we lost the context of an "announcement" a little bit, I guess ... ;D The antennas look very good and that little red house looks so beautifully danish to me. Denmark is such a nice country. Scandinavia has lots and lots of red houses, wonder why? Meanwhile, I know, our Forums links have gone round the german "Airship-Scene", so there are some valuable spectators around this thread which might provide additional -rare- knowledge. That is good to know, welcome guys!

Thorsten Klahn from the Tondern Museum sent us scans he made for us from old documents showing the wiring and general function of the beacon system. This is not a piece of cake (for me). I will try to translate, if neccessary. They sent different signals like in and out in specific intervals and from taking the time from minimum to maximum of a signal they could draw a line on the map. Having two of them crossed (i.e. Tonder and Kleve) gave them their position.

So, it was found, that railways in FS9 are only a "shadows" on the ground. Yes, they are placedon the base mesh, as it was presented on maps. But it is a matter to discuss, should be steam railway engines and carts installed in scenery? Also, a telegraph code for Tondern Peilfunk beacon is required. I use "TOND" now, but the correct code would be more desirable. A "back yard" of Tondern. Hangar and "Albatros" fighters. The heating central is to the left.

The code was "bb" for Tonder ("cc" for "Station C" in Kleve)- followed by the startsignal -...- --- ... Afterwards they transmitted for 80 sec with both antennas with 2 rpm of the array, which gave the listening ship a minimum at every 15 sec. Finally they transmitted the shutdown signal .-.-. --- ... They did that every 15 min before and 15 min after the full hour.
Concerning the railway: That looked darn good on the scale model... Maybe look around within the available EZ-libs? There is some fine stuff out - including hi-res rails - that would fit our needs and you would not need to model them on your own.

Thanks for code. In FS9 is impossible to combine custom radio signal for NDB. So, only "BB" will be transmitted. Well, let's search for EZ-library, but I never use this software before. The tracks on the model are very oversized. The railway tracks hve a width of 1.520 meters in Russia and 1.435 meters in Western Europe. So, if "Tobias" shed is about 30 meters width, it must count at least 20 of railway tracks width. For my opinion, railway tracks on the model is twice in scale. Please correct, if I am going wrong.

That is one cute little steamengine! Makes me want to play with it! The railway nicely shows the true size of the buildings. A nice addition. Here is a picture sent in by Luftschiffharry that also gives a nice view of the building: ;D Also, here is what a Loeschfunkensender sounded like: www.drahtundklebeband.de/Loeschfunken-Sender_1.wav
