Isn't this a coincidence! I just met with a widow tonight of a man who had 7000 hours in a B-52. He died a year ago, and she is donating all his models to the museum. Nice to see this old bird still going strong after all these years.

Well, I was a Security Police Officer all my career. We had b-52s at Griffiss AFB, NY; Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC; and Minot AFB, ND. I'd never heard of them called BUFFs. (My Career from 1970-1991)
We (the "all of us" we) called them BUFs - "Big Ugly Fu....er, Fellows."
Of course, it may have changed after my time as the PC people took over....
