Not unconsciousness but flying in the pitch black with no ground lights at all.
My WW2 scenery looks unreal at night being lit up & I'm hoping it's possible to fly in the dark from airfield to airfield.......?

I seem to recall that there is a "halo.bmp" in the main texture folder that is used for lighting. You could try editing that (after a back-up) and see which of the light spots are used for general lighting.

I believe the halo.bmp is for runway/taxiway lights. All the textures with a "lm" in them are the night lighting. I havent tried this yet, but removing them should remove all the night lighting.

Thank you. I assume there are 'im' textures for roads that are lit as well? I'll have a search......

I've removed lots of lm files but apart from some things I've added I can't see much difference so far....

Terry, A couple of notes: When moving the files please do so in an organized manner that allows you to return the files to their original location. If you combine/mix the moved files, reinstall may be your only option to restore the 'lm's. Also, you will find some odd looking areas in the night terrain, particularly within cities. I think this a result of the generic night shading applied in the absence of the landclass texture 'lm's. ............................................................ You'll get the greatest result by removing the 'lm' bmps for the landclass texture sets and for generic and autogen buildings and objects. Landclass (and roads and highways) are in ..\Scenery\World\texture\. Generic and autogen buildings and objects are in ..\Flight Simulator 9\Texture\. and ..\Scenery\Generic\texture\. .................................................................. To remove airport surface lights, move 'halo.bmp' from ..\Flight Simulator 9\Texture\. There may also be custom terrain textures and objects with night lighting. The 'lm's are in the custom area folders. Examples: ..Scenery\Eurw\texture\.. or Scenery\Cities\<city>\texture\. ................................................. Here is an image of downtown London, with the terrain and generic/autogen object 'lm's removed, showing the terrain night shading anomoly. The road and custom object 'lm's have not been removed at this point. My experiments are in FS9 default, GW3 not installed, but the result should be the same. Dave
