This airplane has been out for quite a while. The one item that I feel it could really use is a VC. I haven't added a VC before and it's a little out of my realm, but has anyone added a VC to it? Perhaps the VC from the stock Goose would work? If so, how did you do it? Thanks!

Hello,
I've done similar with other planes....
copy the "Grumman_Goose_G21A_interior.mdl" from the Goose model folder to your planes model folder and add to the model .cfg file
interior=Grumman_Goose_G21A_interior
it will look like this...
[models] normal=(your model as it is) interior=Grumman_Goose_G21A_interior
Then copy the texture file from the Goose and add one of those texture cfg files to each texture file of the Short a/c. [it's the one that says....
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture fallback.2=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture fallback.3=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
Then, copy and paste the VC portion of the Goose panel.cfg to the Shorts panel. *Be sure the Goose gauge CAB is in the main gauge folder.
Usually this will work, you may have to remove (but save) any interior texture files from the Shorts textures.
Hope it helps..... P

Thanks.
I gave it a shot, but the whole thing turned up invisible- outside and inside. I'm tinkering with it to see if I can figure it out.

My bad, sorry,
add the Goose textures DIRECTLY to each Short texture file rather than the separate texture folder.

Is the aircraft an FsX mdl? If not then the vc substitution won't work.

Dang! I thought it was a native Sealand. Oh well.I went through the same thing with Bruce's FSX version of Franks P6M. I wonder if there might not be a way to fool FSX into displaying a external cockpit model in a non native model. A XML gauge or a module. Its a wholly different archetechture, but in the Orbiter sim a DLL. code (Vinka's DLL) add on allows banging together different models, payload models, cockpits ect. An interesting approach. Dunno, just thinking out loud.
