Hello all...its been a few years since I ran GW ..I have tried to reinstall it several times today to no avail...
I am familiar with installing this, yet each time I follow the tutorial to the letter GW's crashes..
It will go as far as load the splash screen and then the FS9 start screen..If I click anything ther(which BTW its all blank) then it crashes....
here is the Crash report...notice how the exe. file is written...
This is on Vista 64....
First three installs were at C/ FSGW's that I made my FS9 copy too..
Last two installs went to my D Drive just for GW's now...
Any thoughts would be appreciated...many thanks

Well...After two more installs I have come to this conclusion...
If it's not a Vista 64 problem I am at a complete loss :-(

From the looks of that you may just need to get rid of the additional .exe extension on the file name.
If you are comfortable doing so, just save a copy of the file before making the edit.

Update..
Last Night I Dumped Vista ...
Installed XP pro again, updated and protected it.
Set up XP, optized it and installed FS9 with EzScenery and Active Sky 6.5.
Made a copy of FS9 , Installed GW's without a hitch...
Sometimes I guess its best to be out with the new and in with the old.
GW's runs beautiful at 60 frames locked at 60 with all slider right...yeaaaa
...Is their a site where GW flyers hang out mostly ?

Update.. ...Is their a site where GW flyers hang out mostly ? You've found it. It's here. Welcome! BTW I'm having similar problems with FSX and Windows 7. My FSX runs pretty fine in XP Pro but will not play nice in Windows 7 on my machine at all, despite having a brand new GTX560 graphics card. I think that there just happens to be combinations of cpu and motherboards that are just not compatible with the later versions of windows. When I can, I'm going to bite the bullet and invest in an Intel i5 cpu + new mobo (obviously) + new even faster memory in the blind hope that that will solve my problems. I realise that this is not quite the same problem as you're having - well in a way it is, because this time around I also installed FS9 (which runs great in XP Pro for me) in Windows 7 and that also gave graphics problems and crashes.

Hey Rollerball..
Having built many FSX machines, with Win 7 64 bit running, I have only seen FSX Graphics problems with Nvidia cards...( driver related mostly).. IMO only
Perhaps your Motherboard needs flashed ...
Update Direct X
And...I also suggest that you go back to an earlier nvidia driver...Maybe even a tweaked one from Guru 3D's site
I have FSX screenshots of setting up FSX with both ATI and Nvidia if you like them...
I was Harleyman at Sim outhouse, and had some tech support forums their a few years ago...
I don't know it all, but I am pretty good at getting FSX set up and running well typically.
