Hi all, just returned from England and after a tedious journey was relaxing with FSX today and came across the following site. robertjamesrichardson.co.ukI'd not heard of it before. Rob Richardson has lovingly created some beautiful models all free and I've been busy downloading and installing them. The ones I've installed so far I've found to have excellent flight dynamics and some beautiful sounds especially the props - the Beagle Basset, Airspeed Ambassador and Cessna 310 all sound brilliant. You might like to give them a try. Roger

What a Find Roger!!!!! I no longer have FSX installed....however, bookmarked this site. Like you, I haven't ever heard of this site....but models appear lovely.
I'm sure I'll be installing FSX once again, however, have been enjoying a little break, away from the action, so-to-speak.
Do keep us filled in with your progress.
Oh.........and glad you had a safe return home!!
Cheers,

I didn't know Rob had his own site. I've downloaded some of his planes from SimOuthouse. They are well done and the C310 was a favorite before FSX crashed and burned.
I may have to make re-installing FSX a Winter project, although to be honest, I'm happy with my virtual PA-18 in my virtual home on Kauai in MS Flight.
EDIT: I had a brain cramp. The C310 I had was by Brett Henderson and I got it at Simviation

Tom, been there and have the tee shirt as you know but since (modestly) upgrading my PC so FSX runs in Windows 7 I'm re-discovering its joys. Earlier today I was flying several of Rob's aircraft in the 'default' area around Friday Harbor and enjoying every minute of it. I've got my graphics turned up quite high and although I've only set (and get) 20 fps, that's enough for me to get really nice scenery and pretty smooth flying in FSX Acceleration. Smooth enough for me any way and even I'm surprised that I am now saying that after all my previous bad experiences. I've never been one for lots of payware because I just don't have the budget for it so sites and people like Rob who produce really great freeware models, are a godsend. So having been out of the loop for so long because of my hardware I've got a lot of catching up to do. I'm searching around for good aircraft and scenery that work as they should do in Acceleration and weeding out all of the junk that I've got on my disk that doesn't, so I have a fair way to go yet. But now I have FSX running 'properly' for once, I'm enjoying doing it. I have to say though, although I may be wrong, that my impression as a 'returning' sim enthusiast, is that flightsim doesn't appear to be as active as it used to be and that there are fewer people out there creating new aircraft and scenery models. Do others feel the same as I do?

I've got quite a selection of Rob's aircraft from his Meteors, Vampires, Shackelton, Gannets and many more. He is one of the few FsX freeware designers.
