What I like about radio shows is that the scripts have to describe everything that we can't see.....completely different to TV or movies. For example, ".....she was wearing a red dress, black shoes and sitting nervously on the edge of the chair....". They had to paint the picture and let our imaginations fill in the rest. Great entertainment.

Great entertainment. Yes indeed Bruce....GREAT Entertainment!!! Finding the "Radio Classics" on the Satellite Radio has been wonderful. There are a few shows I don't care for....but end up listening to them anyway. My favorites are the detective stories etc. I enjoy the "GunSmoke" series, however, since I've been watching the old T.V. Series on YouTube.....I hadn't realized how many of the radio programs were made into television shows. Hardly a radio show comes on anymore where I haven't already watched the story on T.V. Tomorrow morning sometime, I'm headed for Fresno, CA. for a week of Business.....I'll be listening to "Radio Classics" for most of the 5 hour trip. (smile) Cheers,

Have a pleasant drive, Steve. You and your trips take me back to when I was doing the Snowy Mountains runs......and to be truthful, I do miss that, at times.

I do enjoy most of the trips. I go to Fresno several times a year and really enjoy the ride up. This year I have an insurance class to audit on Saturday (tomorrow) however, Sunday I have nothing to do and too far to come home. Next week 4 offices to visit.....all of them I truly enjoy the visit. Kind of like going to see old friends.
I may head to Yosemite on Sunday....it's been 5 or 6 years since I've been there and it's a nice afternoon trip.
Since I'm not a big fan of L.A. I'll probably take the drive up north through Tehachapi which is always a fun trip.
Got to run for now........
Cheers,

Steve, If you are at a loose end in the LA area, go to Chino and have a meal at Flo's Airport Cafe. I have been there a few times and it is just brilliant! I particularly like the biscuits and gravy, despite the fact that they sound alarming to Australian ears.

I will Nige......Chino Airport is about an hour from my house and I travel out that way on a regular basis. I've been to the airport a time or two...but was just too busy at the air museum to think about eating. (smile) However, for biscuits and gravy I'll always make an exception. (smile) Here's the website with a link to the menu: www.floscafes.com/Of course, living in the Southwest my favorite breakfast is Huevos Rancheros. Now that breakfast I'll go out of my way for. (smile) Cheers,

I left this past Friday for a week up mid-State, but will be returning this coming Friday.
Spoke with the wife last evening, and she checked on my little friends.............they are gone. I thought I had a until next week perhaps...but the little buggers grow up quick. Now....I'll have to keep a close eye on the nest, as I understand the Hummers are known for using the same nest over again.
Sorry to see them go....but on the same note....glad I have a couple more hummingbirds in the backyard to enjoy!!! (smile)
Cheers,

That's good news, Steve. At least they didn't get blown away.
