FYI.....just received an e-mail about the Steam Summer Sale going on. Looks like 50 - 90 % off some titles.
Grab them while they last. (smile)

I saw that Bruce...looks like it would be a wonderful add-on. I was also looking at "Epic Journey's" which looks like it has at least part of Soldier Summit plus two other routes. Hmmmmm.....decisions, decisions. (smile)
I'll have to go back and look some more........but better set myself a limit before going in. I could spend a small fortune in there. (smile)

Steve, "Epic Journeys" includes the full Soldier Summit route.....apparently there was a lot of feedback for DTG to release Soldier Summit as a stand-alone route....which they have done.
The only gripe that I have with it is that the mountain stream which runs (most of the way) alongside the line is one of those man-made canals, of constant-width, and looks very little like something nature would have created. The same thing can be seen in Donner Pass and also Canadian Passes. Laziness, I think.

Thanks Bruce.....Well, I picked up the stand alone Soldier Summit route.....as well as the Canadian Passes and the Class 14XX Tank Loco. Since it was almost midnight last evening, I hadn't a chance to test too much out.....but plan on taking a peek over the weekend. What I've seen so far I like....but yes.....I agree. Why spend so much time making everything look realistic, just to ruin it with a "wimpy" stream. I think I'd much rather they leave it out.
Cheers,

Bruce....Thanks for the info....I'm really enjoying the Soldier Summit route. I did one of the "Pre-made" routes last evening, however, I seem to prefer to just do the quick drives etc. I've been using the GP-20 by Reppo with a L-O-N-G consist of mixed freight I made up. I had forgotten how much I enjoy that engine. Hooked 3 engines together with a train a little over a mile long. I'll run from the Provo Yard to Summit this evening. That should be a challenge getting up a few of the grades without overheating. (smile)
Cheers,

I like TS2015 I got it dirt cheap in the last sale. Does anyone else agree with me that the interface for it is counter intuitive? I suppose it is because I only fire it up occasionally that I have not got used to it.

Alex, Do you meant the interface once in the cab of the loco or the "dashboard" after the game fires up?

Yes when the game first starts. I should qualify. The box Engine Driver - on start it has a box telling me of some new texture or train. I click on it and .... Nothing. I go to Profileit shows favourite route and Loco. which is Garmisch and DB BR426 neither of which I have yet tried. There was something else I came across the other day which indicated I had been awarded a new Loco. But no amount of clicking on it revealed how I could get to it. Did I have to buy it? It sure never showed up in my list of trains.
Probably just me used to the MSFS type of interface.

Steam has to be the bane of my life. I hate it's interface with a vengeance.....and have suffered the same frustrations as you, Vin and Alex. Trying to buy and download something from that site results in hair-tearing for me.
I play offline because I distrust what might be going on in the background if I leave Steam online. Came off one session with TS2015 once and found that my download monitor had racked up over 200Mb on "updates" from Steam.

That's really weird, I don't have a big problem with either the menus or the purchasing systems. I will admit though, if I buy anything for TS I usually go through the Steam DLC Page off the TS Main Store Page. This Page, accessed through the TS2015 Store Page of Steam. The Workshop is totally a different situation. Its called the Workshop for a reason. It is where users can upload their creations to the community, and you can access it from the Profile Menu of the Main Menus of TS2015. Then one can browse the User DLC through the Steam Overlay. To use/unuse one of the User DLCs you have to subscribe/unsubscribe the content. The listing of the content subscribed to will be listed in the left pain of the Workshop Page of TS2015.
