My Golden Wings and my FS9 installs are suffering the same problem. The sounds are OK sometimes but very often I get nothing but a buzzing sound. This happens on the mouse clicks, cockpit and engine sounds as well as the audio ATC messages. It all started when I upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 3GB. Before installing the new memory I researched and made sure the new RAM chips were compatible. I have no problem with any other software. Everything else works and sounds great including my audio applications such as Protools, Cool Edit, and Windows Media Player. During the installation process the "onboard" sound chip was somehow enabled (I had disabled it when I added a SoundBlaster Live PCI card last year). I have entered the BIOS and disabled this onboard sound to avoid conflicts (this was the setting before I installed the new RAM). I have also reinstalled the software that came with my SoundBlaster Card. I also entered the "Settings" function of Golden Wings and FS9 and tried several different sound quality settings. Nothing I've tried has worked. The sound problem is intermittent and only occurs in Golden Wings, FS9. Any help you might offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Deaton

Hi Deaton,
Is your on-board device now listed in Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers?
If so, it may be causing conflicts and would require removal. Check your SB documents.

Dave, Thanks for the reply. Yes, I checked the Device Manager and the on-board sound device is gone. Also, everything listed is enabled and working as it should. Deaton

Deaton, Have you checked the sound volume levels in the sim menu?
Roger.
