Hi yall ;D
I downloaded Golden Hawaii for FS9. I rely liked it. I thought this would look good in FSGW. So rather than run the self installer, and have to activate the Golden Hawaii every time I manually placed the file in there proper places. Well it worked out just fine. Golden Hawaii runs as part of the FSGW's scenery.
The only thing is I have two airports for Honolulu Intl. Does any one know which of the BGL files in Ocen in the main scenery folder that controls just Honolulu Intl ? I need to remove one of the two. If I know which BGL file controls the def Honolulu airport I could remove that.
I hope there is away to work this out, as I rely like having the scenry from Golden Hawaii in with FSGW ;D
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

First off... is this the only Hawaii scenery you have loaded in your FSGW install? If you have FSGenesis Hawaii mesh and landclass installed the landclass part will interfere (I can point you to where to find which files to disable if that is the case). Any other airport installations for Hawaii can also interfere (they will probably be in a different folder and have a different priority). Lastly, how exactly did you install GH into FSGW? The easiest way would have been to install directly into FSGW, or you could move the GH scenery and GH texture folders and the batch file switcher over to the Ocen folder of your FSGW installation and run the switcher. Copying and pasting the files from within the GH scenery and texture folders to your Ocen scenery and texture folders will only give you a real mess of mixed up stuff.
Best of luck,

I'm moving this to Custom Classics Support. The very first item in the CCS FAQ will give you a list of modern Hawaii files top remove to a safe place.

Thanks for the reply. I opend the the self instaler in to a new folder that I created in my download folder. I then copyed from each file like the aircraft folder of golden hawaii to fsgw's aircraft folder, and so on effect to effect scenery to senery. I copyed the files from ocen to ocen, hscenery to the ocen's scenery folder, ghtexture's to the ocen's texture. it all works fine. just I have two airports in Honolulu. If I knew wich of the bgl files controld Honolul's def. airport then I could just put it in a safe place rather the deleing it. Would something like that work?

My suggestion would be to install Golden Hawaii automatically in the FSGW version of Flight Sim and just use the switcher the once to place the GH airport there. You wouldn't need to create a shortcut to the switcher on the grounds that you have no plans to switch back. It seems like it would be less hassle, and the FSGW honolulu airport would be backed up safely anyway.

Yes thant is the right way to use Golden Hawaii, but the problem I have had with that is Golden Hawaii got FS9 confused with FSGW. But you are right that is probely the bst way. However it is working the way I had hoped it would.
I removed one bgl. file from Golden Hawaii's ocen folder at a time untill I found wich of the bgl. files handeled Honolulu's airport. So I guess I got I worked out.

In order to have Golden Hawaii work the way you have installed it you must remove ALL the files referenced in the first question of the FAQ. Those are all the modern Hawaii files which Golden Hawaii replaces. Otherwise you will have duplicate airports everywhere you go in the islands. The FAQ is posted just above this post.

Thanks Tom. I checked out the faq, and afeter careful consideration, and and one big mess of things. I took all of the Golden Hawaii files out of FSGW. So it's defently better to run Golden Hawaii the way it was intended to be. So the nexed question is how to run Golden Hawaii in FSGW with out it getting mixed up with FS9??
