Hi I've had the Globe Swift since it came out and have recently upgraded my computer, I was flying the Swift Classic the other day when I noticed that the reflections on the highly polished vc's panel consisted of houses and trees - even after I had taken off! Can anyone tell me why I might be seeing this? I just checked on my old computer and the reflections aren't like this at all, they are just what I would consider 'normal'. I'll post a screenshot if someone can tell me how to include it in my post! Thanks.

If you didn't understand that one post Roger reccommended (Not saying it isn't understandable), try this: Go to www.imageshack.us. Then click "Browse", find the screenshot, and click it. Then upload. Once the page of URL's show up, find the one that says And copy that URL. Now you only have to paste that URL in to your message, and walla! You have a picture!

Did some diggin', maybe this will help. (Downloaded and installed the Swift today, ccswift4.zip, from flightsim.com.) It appears the reflection image should come from a default file, 'envmap.bmp', in the FS main 'texture' folder. Format should be DXT1-256x256x16-43kb-date 4/16/2003. Here is a .jpg rendition of the 'envmap.bmp' image. If the image in your install differs or is missing you can restore it from CD2\msgame3.cab. (If you restore because the .bmp was modified, you might want to back up the 'modified' file in case it came with some add-on the needs it.) Hope this helps. Dave

It worked! Thank you very much. Here's the vc with normal reflections now: And this was the 'new' envmap.bmp' that had replaced it. I've no idea where it came from!

"Subliminal-advertising" envmap? now that's really odd, when you think you've seen everything, here comes out the surprise! lol Where did that come from?
Glad to know you solved this issue, and your thread, remembered me to reinstall the Swift again.

Glad it worked. I can only guess is came with a scenery, designed to show as a reflection in a reflective pool or windowed wall, etc.. If you stumble across the scenery you could try placing the 'new' file in that scenery's texture subfolder. It might find it there before looking in the main textue folder. Just a thought, 'no warranty expressed or implied'. Dave
