Hey Guys,
I installed Bill's Tiger Moth and was wondering if anybody else is having problems getting the doors and cowling closed? I know the instructions say to use the Shift+E+2 to perform the operation but after close to 10 minutes of trying that combination the only thing that happens sometimes is that the pilot appears and disappears. Is there something wrong with the model file?
Thanks
Bill

Try "O" and "/"....

If that doesn't work, I've found that doing Shift E and then waiting half a second before pressing 2 usually does the trick.

Yep, just did a quick circuit in Pago Pago and they worked fine for me - whether I waited a second or two or not. Can't think why they shouldn't work for you. Don't think Pago Pago has anything to do with it though

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions:
I normally have a little trouble with this particular key combination on all my planes but this is the first time that I couldn't get it to work at all.
Kofi - it seems like the "/" will pull a cover over the open cockpit and then take it away. Jim - even waiting for a half second on my system will cause it to perform an open/close operation which adds or removes the pilot. Rollerball - who knows, maybe I'll try Pago Pago. I never get around to that part of the world anyway.
Thanks again..
Bill

Bill- Its a matter of timing. Depress Shift+E at the same time, release and quickly press 2

Well, I found something that works for me since my fingers are so uncoordinated at the keyboard. There is a utility at avsim that lets you create keyboard macros and then lets you assign those macros to either a key on the keyboard or your joy stick. I assigned the Shift+E+2 sequence to my joystick #10 button and now I can open and close the doors and cowling first time, every time. I should have used this years ago!! Bill

Hey Bill,
You didn't need a utility to do that, you could have done that in FS2004.

LOL,
Hey Rollerball, I think WE are ALL nuts off the same tree, don't you think?
MoCat, are you talking about the keyboard assignments screen? I did take a look at that except I didn't know what type of operation to put it under. I mean, it's not the exit open/close assignment. Enlighten me with your wisdom, ole' wise one.

Bill,
It's and exit open/close assignment!
"What's a door but a door, is not a door if called by any other name, does it not open as smoothly, does it not click when shut, does it not allow entrance or exit from a place or thing". Then yes a door is a door it may also be a cowl, hatch, and in some cases a cover, but it can still be assigned to open/close.
Just being different!
