Myself, I am more of a Vindaloo fan, but it looks like a nice place.

That was their booth menu at the Folk Festival. The actual restaurant has a larger menu though I'm not sure about Vindaloo. (I made Vindaloo for my daughter in law last Spring. It was a big hit.)

Today's menu is... Battered Haddock freshly landed at Grimsby, with mushy peas and batter bits and stonking big chips, laced with fine bouquet of malt vinegar and sea salt And Tizer to wash it all down.

I just had baked Tilapia fillet with crab cakes and steamed broccoli buds and a green pepper laced rice pilaf. Wth a rather ordinary cup of coffee

Ha ha, The Brit menu is for those with a strong digestive constitution, lol! I do love Fish and Chips but I can only have it maybe twice a year. All the best kind of seafood is exhoribitant in the UK. Lobster and crab are not favorites here so our catches tend to go to France and Spain. Mind you few comestibles beat a rare fillet with a melted roquefort topping for me.

Speaking of strong constitutions, I had my first mushy last November... That must be an acquired taste

Fish and chips are great, but like Tom, the Mushy peas are not to my taste.

Got a couple pounds in the freezer. I like to cook up a half pound in a little olive oil and toss with fettucini and a spoonful of basil pesto. Serve with a nice cheap Pinot Grigio... Yeah, H, I live about four miles from a shrimp boat dock and seafood store, the majority of their stuff goes directly on ice and inland to distributors in Atlanta and Charlotte, but they sell to locals from the store. In season, I can get fresh 18-21 count shrimp fresh from the mornings catch for $4.95/lb, smaller salad shrimp are $3.50. We also get really nice fresh oysters for next to nothing (if you are willing to buy them by the peck or bushel. One of the neat things is watching them unload the boats, they sort out all of the trash fish and jelly fish (cannon balls) and shovel them over the side. There are usually six-eight bottle nose dolphins there for a free meal and they usually get very well fed. neat to watch and video.
