I think I'm going to head for the hills tomaorrow and spend a couple days at my brothers pond in the upstate. It's going to be hot, but I'm taking quite enough brew to keep me cool. He's got a old barn for us to sleep but I think I'll take my tent to keep the no-see-ums off. Steaks and baked potatoes are on the menu for the evening meal. We always eat well there..... Saturday will probably be quail and dove stuffed with jalopanos, wrapped in bacon and grilled over an open flame....
As one of my southern friends used to say "It's so good it'll make your tongue slap your brains out!"

I hope that you can get enough gas for the round trip. News has it, CLT, GSO, and RDU are having a short fall - prices going to higher altitudes. SD

Paul, Yeah, it sounds like great food. Hot is likely, I was in the "Flatlands" -Hickory NC yesterday and it was 92. Here at Grandfather Mtn, is 55 outside now (9:30 pm) and the high today was 70. My son is back in Beaufort and he says it is hot and buggy there .
Have A GREAT WEEKEND.

Gas is available but expensive. My little Civic HB has been topped off and gets about 38 MPG so I won't need too much gas. The pond is up near Lake Greenwood in a little town called Waterloo...... Kinda reminds me of a song............... ABBA

As one of my southern friends used to say "It's so good it'll make your tongue slap your brains out!" That's Hillarious...... however, it's the slapping the day after that kills me anymore. Have a great trip.... sure sounds good. Best wishes, Steve R.

Doves look great, used to hunt them myself up near Dalzell and out at Oswego. Pretty lake, nice scenery.
