Hi folks!
I'm a new member of The Old Hangar forum, so I thought I should write few words about myself. Some of you may already know me from other forums, but others (like Bill & Lynn or Tom) maybe not.
My name is Rafael "Rola" Skibicki and I'm from the middle of that darned Europe My interest in aviation was quite recently renewed by flight simulators. My expierience with FS is very little when compared to most of you, guys, so please have patience for a newbie. I had my first contact with FS series about 10 years ago, but I preferred combat flight sims. That's because I was always focused on warbirds - especially WW2 ones, however as I got back to studying the subject about 3 years ago, I found that civilian birds can be fun, too. Especially those from the golden era of aviation - the 1930s!
I found to my discontent that airplanes from my country are poorly represented in FS series - all freeware, made by amateurs, mostly modern, only few warbirds from 1930s (if we count CFS too) - and that's it! I thought it will stay this way if nobody takes action - so here I am, in the big FS world
I have started out a project called "Races'n'Records" (catchy name, eh? ) dedicated to vintage airplanes. You can find more info about it on my website, I will also start a separate thread, to fill you with some interesting details.
I'm sorry it took me so long to start writing on the forum, but I had problems with my website's host in September, I was away on "business" trip in October and... my PC broke in November
(yeah, my buddy once joked somebody is sabotaging me!)
Too bad I was forced to wait for so long, now that Bill & Lynn have taken a break... I hope they will be back soon.
I'd like to thank the whole Golden Wings Gang for taking care of my favorite period in the history of aviation in MS Flight Simulator - thanks to you it's much easier to recreate "that feeling" from this pioneer years. Great job, guys!
