Installed FSGW and it's great except I seem to have lost landing lights on most aircraft. All aircraft work fine in FS9. As the problem only applies where landing lights do not appear in the [lights] section of the aircraft config file I thought it might be an XML gauge problem I copied the Gauge file over from FS9 but still no luck. Also tried copying over the Effects file with the same result. Has anyone else noticed this problem or is it something that is missing from my installation? Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry can't help the planes I fly do not have them fitted.
Seems unlikely to be related to GW though since that only changes the scenery data - you would lose runway and taxiway lights since they were probably not in use in the 1930's. Some airfields had floodlights for night landings though

That made be a side-effect of the halo.bmp change that removed all the modern lights around airfields.
You could try the halo.bmp from your default FS9 but be warned that will turn on all the runway lighting systems in the world.

Thanks Tom, it's certainly the halo.bmp.
Masking all but the top left hand image loses the runway lights and keeps the landing lights but the downside is that some aircraft e.g. the Rapide, Beech 18, use the bottom left image for the tail light and this is the image used for the runway lights. Nothing in FS is that simple. Even this partial fix will probably raise a problem elsewhere! Looks like there is going to have to be a trade off between tail lights and runway lights.
Thanks for the help.

Hah Your other option is to fire up afcad and start removing runway lights (Oh yeah.... )

Ah - I have learned something new today I never realized that aircraft effects could be linked with ground effect through a single bitmap There is much more to messing with FS than meets the eye ;D
