Hi All. First off, thanks so much for this incredible project. Up, running and all OK. I know that you hid certain airports that were not around in this time frame and I would like to get rid of a few more here in the Sacramento, CA area - Like Sac International for example. Is there a way to attack the AFCAD to make the runways go away? Any comments would be great. Of course, I and everyone else are eagerly waiting for what comes next. ;D Later,

Hi Fredz, In AFCAD, jusr go to pointer mode and draw a line around the airport. Hit delete, Save to FSGW3/addon Scenery/sceneryand poof no runways! Now use the excbuild exclude program from AVSIM to get rid of the buildings and it's all gone

Speaking of AFCAD...
has anybody found a way to use AFCAD without it automatically using the Flight Simulator 9 folder? I don't mean when saving but when collecting airport information while opening an airport. I have to rename the FSGW3 folder to Flight Simulator 9 and rename the FS9 folder with a backup name. Didn't see any reference to path in the ini file.
There's got to be an easier way.

The Airport removal methhod - AFCAD and EXCBuilder ... works great.... KPHL is now just a vacant field .... As for getting AFCAD to point to the simulator you want ... If memory serves ... if you still have the stock FS9 in the system ... try this ... rename it temporarly ... the start AFCAD ... if I am not mistaken, it will tell you that it can't find FS9 ... and then you can specify where it is ... in this case GW3... it then comes back with some comment... click ok ... and that is that ... it will now be looking for GW3. Just finished added a few things to Northeast Philidelphia ... as it was the first and primary airport for that city, until things really started picking up .... and as I mentioned above ... returned KPHL to a more "pristine" condition.

Now back to Lago FSE...
I've tried everything and can not get it to work in both installations. The install program does not allow you to select a folder for installation and just uses the FS9 path so I had to rename both folders and install it. Still, I can not see objects in the FSGW3 install but I can in the FS9 install. Since I have a lot of enhanced sceneries in FS9, that is much more important to me right now.
If I'm having these kinds of problems, I hate to think what someone with less 'experience' will have. I'm starting to think that FSE is not going to be a viable way to create or enhance scenery for FSGW.
I'll report back if I figure anything out.

Any way to get some airports that have already been made vacant to have a different field texture? KATL is blank, but is covered with streets...but no houses. I'd prefer it to be just farmland or woodland. Same with KSEA and others.

You can learn to make scenery and use a program like Groundmaker to lay a polygon over things you don't like.

Bill, Thanks for the hints. Sometime the easiest solution is right in front of you and you just don't see it. Now I can return KSmf to the rice fields that it was in this time frame. Back to playing - thanks again for all your work. Later,

Bill and all. Another question, same vein. I was able to eliminate Sac. Intnl. KSMF runways with AFCAD and the buildings with Exclude Builder but I am still left with the overall outline of the airport. Everything looks the same as SFO for example but SFO does not have the airport outline. Any idea how to make the outline go away so that the underlying texture shows?? I lowered the elevation of Sac. Intnl. to 0 feet with no change. Will this be a case of having to creat a big polygon with a suitable texture to hide all that I want to go away?? I just Love computer programs. Thanks for any info.

Bill uses Groundmaker to lay textured polys over the airport mat. One more thing I need to learn. For KPWM, I put some buildings on the vacant acreage. When I revisit it this winter I will make some dairy farms

Aha, now I understand what I was seeing (lots of streets, no autogen) when I was flying out of Roosevelt Field the other day
