Hello all,
After the success of my first FS9 movie, I'm thinking of making a second one about Lindbergh's 1927 flight. I was wondering how I was going to re-do Long Island scenery, to make it look like 1927 when I heard about Golden Wings.
I have a custom scenery that reproduces Roosevelt Field, but when I fly over the area beyond the custom scenery it looks like a bunch of empty roads in the woods. Sort of like a housing development after a tornado has rolled through.
Is there a specific texture that's making these empty roads, or do I have to tweak something else.
Thanks

Here are some screen shots to better explain my question. and As you can see from the top down view, it looks like a texture is being tiled across the scenery and is making all of these roads with no houses. Can someone tell where this texture is at so that I can change it? Thank you

Actually, there was no airport in the area originally.
I went through the texures in the texture folder, but found nothing that looked like this. Are there other folders that hold scenery textures?

Well I tracked down the troublesome textures. They are located in FSGW3/Scenery/World/Texture folder.
If you sort by date, they were made at 7/25/2005
They go from 045b2fa1 down to 029b2sp6.
There are 56 files.
I could see fixing one or two using Photoshop and DXTbmp, but 56 is a bit much.
Using the files from FS9 won't do as they're modern suburb textures.

The "troublesome" textures are the Golden Wings replacement suburban textures. They rely on autogen to furnish the trees and buildings. Either you have your autogen turned off or there is a big old fashioned exclude file in the Roosevelt addon that is removing the autogen leaving only the textured streets. Try taking it out and see if it looks better, Bill

My autogen settings were at "very dense." I removed a file labeled, "Roosevelt Field - May 20, 1927_exc1.bgl" from the scenery folder in the Roosevelt Field Add-on and the houses and trees came back. Things look good now, except for the factory sitting in the middle of the field Well at least I know what's going on now. I was going to have to tweak things anyway as the Roosevelt Field add-on is a frame rate killer. Thanks

You can use the exclude tool noted in the GW Tools thread to remove the factory. Check library objects in the program and the factory will go poof! Bill
