Is there an easy way to identify which of the bgl's in the scenery folder belong to a known airport? I think that three bgl's in each of the areas belong to one airport, is that correct? If so, how can I identify those without going through each one? Any help would be appreciated greatly!

They are best left alone. You can easily modify any airport (even eliminate it) with AFCAD2.

I agree with Tom. It is not generally good practice to mess with the baase scenery. However if you have FSNav then it is quite easy to do. Just hover your mouse over the airport and you will see which bgl it is in near the bottom of the list. You need the airport full list not a runway. This will not work accurately if there is an AFCAD which has updated the airport since this will be displayed as the file. Also it iw worth updating the FSNav database to take account of any changes in your scenery first Again, however, if you are just looking at changing an airport or two then use AFCAD

ok this is what I have found If you use fsnav and have it open and you hold your mouse over a airport it will give you the bgl file that it is, or instats KuIL Wash. File Scenery\NAMW\scenery\AP914140.BGL Try that and see if that helps

One of the problems associated with editing default bgls is the inability to share that work with anyone else. Microsoft frowns on distribution of their code, altered or not. Another reason to use AFCAD for altering airports since the code created is new

. Hi Woody - no worries and my toes are fine ;D ;D Just pleased that someone confirmed my suggestion Yep it is a pity that there isn't any other way that I know of to remove unwanted airport entries from the airports listing. On my system the unwanted Florida fields are gone but I can't distribute the way I did it

TCalc2004_v2_0 will show you the bgl where your ac is located.
Use SBuilder to append a bgl. This does not change the default bgl, but adds a bgl to change properties of it.
Takes a little to learn, but the instructions in help files are easy to understand. With these you can delete airport background polys, change RR, roads, water masks, any LWM or VTP bgl.
AB9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to Airport base polygons HL9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to hydro lines, such coastlines and river banks. RD9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to roads. RR9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to railway roads. ST9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to river streams UT9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to electricity lines. FL9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to flatten polygons HP9XXYY0.BGL - these files refer to hydro polygons (and/or hydro area fills)
