Well the gang were lured away from Cross City with the promise of extra wine, (wo)men, and song [we are an equal opportunity employer over here at ScruffyDuck Construction ;D] Crestview has four runways but so far I can't find any evidence on the real arrangement. Anyway I thought that it would be nice to have something a bit different. The ground is cleared, the guys on the mowing and rolling machines have been working overtime on the runways and since the locals wanted to make sure that their town was clearly visible from the air they paid for a couple of house painters with a large supply of white paint (from some dodgy source no doubt) to paint the name in the grass. Tom and the others who were interested in getting the name in the grass - I have given up on using an API - this is a textured polygon which I think looks better - appreciate your views. Thanks Tom.
The technique is sorted now I think though it has taken a while. I have been writing it down so that I can repeat it for each airport. I plan to make it available as a tutorial in case it will help others.
I want to improve my texture design skills for the airport name - over time it needs a few weeds growing through it ;D
