Something that would work out of the box is The Holy Grail.
I learned to use Airport For Windows when that was what there was. I can do a lot with it but do not recommend it for new designers. SceneGenX which we have both had bad luck with and SBuilder are the only real choices for the future. As ScruffyDuck said there is help for SBuilder so I would recommend keeping after that. I hope to spend some time learning SBuilder myself over the Winter

Once you get SBuilder started there are a series of folders to set in the preferences section. AS per the installation instructions you need to put SCASM into the tools folder of the SBuilder setup. The rest of the tools come with the program. SBuilder compiles bgls to your FS installation and creates some using SCASM and others using XML. You just need to set the target folders for the project when you create a new one.
I agree with Tom - these things NEVER work out of the box, but SBuilder is a hugely competent piece of scenery design software so it is bound to have its quirks.
Do you know which file it is missing (DLL or OCX)? and do you have it? If not then let me know

Tom, scruffy,
Miracles do happen! I just re-installed Sbuilder, copied across SCASM.exe and it is working. Created a Macros folder and copied across the GW3 macros. No useful titles but I actually managed to get a hanger into position at Bagabag. Admittedly it is floating a couple of feet off the ground but hey -it is there. Gonna try to sort the height problem now. I am up and running. I think I'll have a hunt round for some more API's and Rnwy12 objects. Thanks for your help. No doubt I'll be pestering you some more real soon.
All the best kurt

Yep I'm on a roll now. I do have one question at the moment. To use the RWY12 scenery libraries do I have to install the whole RWY12 package? Thie means I have to download and install a few MSI's for Microsoft which I am not too keen to do.....

What I dislike about Sbuilder with respect to altitude settings (there's a lot of other stuff I don't like about it too but never mind that for now) is that it wants them in metric. Since FS displays altitude in feet, and the available data for US airfields for that period is also in feet, that means you have to do conversions. Which is an annoyance, though admittedly not a big deal. And not everybody shares my deeply ingrained dislike of metric.

Kurt - I'm not sure if you need to download the whole RWY12 package. I had it in place before I installed SBuilder. SBuilder does not use any of the RWY12 functionality - just the libraries so I guess you might download one of the addon libraries and see if you can access it.
