Anyone - I have come across schematic top down views of several African and Indian airfields as they were in the mid 1930's. Would anyone who can create airport scenery like to try and create these great old field for an IA or otherwise addition to GW?
If so I can attach them to an email and send off. I unfortunately don't know how to attach to a forum post(shakes own head) :>)
These look to be very accurate drawings that given position, placement and size for the airfield.
Someone let me know if there is interest.
Regards, Royce

Royce, Fascinating historical info! I love the notes relating to Karachi. I must phone Karachi 38 and make a booking on the next flight! Where did you come across these? Bruce

Thank you Captain, I think you will be a very good asset to the developement of IAVA. You are much more able to do the research than I am. I work 11 1/2 hours per day at my main job, and my second job varies, but anywhere from 3-5 hours per day. The other thing is, as you know from past post, I am not good at research. Thanks to all who have contributed, but this isn't going to stop I hope.
I am working on blowing up the illustrations you have linked us to, so that they are a bit more readable. Being of just type, and line drawing, it is fairly easy to reduce the size of each file. Gwadar was once 5Mb +, but I took it down to around 17Kb +, so they are manageable. I can read it even more ledgeably than Karachi...... ;D

Hi! Is this idea dead? The small amount of information found on Web: Karachi airship mast. Was this building used as terminal in 60-th years? Is there any more photos? Airship shed. OK, dimentions are well known (859 ft long, 200 ft. wide and 170 ft. hight). A1-type hangar. According "Hangar recognition guide", it is a permanent military RAF aircraft hangar type, designed in 1924. It features a steel frame (with longitudinal ridge and valley trusses for the roof) reinforced concrete and brick infilling for the walls. Typically 122 foot span by 249 foot in length.

belov- I think the Virtual Airline idea is "dead". However someone with your scenary building talents, could certainly adds loads of immersion to Imperial Airways enthusiasts throughout the FS community!...much as you have done with French Africa.
