Needing HELP - anyone, please! Why do half the aircraft I try to convert to AI not even appear (much less fly)? This includes planes from all eras and performance envelopes, even airships and blimps. I have one blimp that works and another that won't appear and yet I can't find anything different between the files. I think (hope) I've covered all of the obvious mistakes and mis-types.
Any ideas - please let me know, Froggy's scenery awaits!

It's likely the problems of aircraft not appearing are in the AFCAD. Also regarding flight models for AI, some flyable aircraft.cfgs are not suitable and the aircraft will fly through the woods. If you have Bill Lyons' Goose package, study the AFCADs and traffic files included. You will find lots of tricks and maybe some things that will help.

Thanks Commander - I'll check out the Goose as you suggest. The test AFCAD I'm using works OK with some and not others and I haven't spotted why they are different. This test is just TNGs, I can usually fix something that doesn't fly right or won't take off, but no-shows are harder to get a grip on!

Check the size and number of parking spots. Make twice as many, twice as big as you think you need. Also make sure the radius of large aircraft does not block the taxiways. Blimps need BIG parking spaces and need to park 1.5x their length from everything

That brings up another question I have. Where should I start in converting aircraft to AI models? I read some stuff but they are just like bits of information you need to piece together in order to get the full instructions on how to do that. Can anyone specify a good website or tutorial to read to convert my first AI aircraft? Thanks, Kobbe

scubakobbe, speaking of ai traffic I can't use either one of yours supplied with your TwinRivers or Pebble Shores scenery, as soon as I put them in all my default AI traffic doubles and some times triples no matter where I fly. I take them out and all reverts to normal. any idea why this happens?

I take them out and all reverts to normal. any idea why this happens? Unfortunately, yes I do. I never figured out how to create an AI traffic file for just one airport, until my latest release, Pebble Shores. What happens is I take a default traffic file, decompile it, put in my airport traffic, then compile it again. Then when you place it in to the folder, your traffic doubles. I was afraid this might happen, but I haven't experienced it doubling yet, and haven't had any reports until now. So, if you would like me to, I could modify the Twin Rivers AI to solve this problem. Then I could email it to you if you want. -Kobbe

Ok, now I do need someone to point me to a tutorial on how to convert airplanes to AI traffic models. I know that some aren't suitable, but I just need to know how to do it!
If anyone could point me in the right direction that will be great, Thanks, Kobbe
