I read in the FS-X review at Avsim that the rectangle platform runways are gone now. The writer says that there is the ability to have sloping runways in FS-X without having to use mesh and poly texture it.
Is this true? I haven't seen a single sloping runway in FS-X. That will sure be nice if it's possible to make a default runway mold to the mesh.
If it's not true, then the writer made a mistake!

I may be wrong but I don't think sloping runways made the final cut

Ya know, I think you're right. Isn't it one of those things that are too good to be true? You were a beta tester, so I would think that you are correct about that. *Edit: It's affirmative, there are no default sloping runways in FS-X. Want to know why? Here's a great article explaining why they can't do it: blogs.msdn.com/tdragger/pages/490739.aspx#490782

No they are not in FSX but the round world is and that is causing a lot of problems with addon scenery designed for FS9 and before. This is because the tools used for those create truly flat polys and the FSX world is curved. Unfortunately there do not seem to be any tools in FSX to create stuff that follows the ground except the basic tools. So as I as I can see airports are flat, but follow the curvature of the Earth, so we can't slope runways, but we can curve them Ughhh!!!!! ;D

Is that because of the better mesh? I thought we were flying on a giant sphere, when you zoom out in top mode you can see it.
Okay, curve, slope, gradient, whatever you want to call it lol ;D
