Just read about an historic flight and decided to replicate it. In 1913 Roland Garros (the tennis tournament is named after him) flew across the Mediterranean from Saint Raphael, near Cannes, on France's Cote d'Azur. He crossed to to the island of Corsica, sighting the town of Calvi, then heading more-or-less due south he passed over the town of Cagliari on the island of Sardinia. When he finally landed in Bizerte, Tunisia, North Africa, he is reputed to have only had 1 of the 55 gallons of fuel he started with left. Sadly, his Morane Saulnier monoplane doesn't have a model in the flight sim, the nearest I could find was a Morane Saulnier type 'N' (Bullet) fighter from WW1 and it just looks too 'modern' for screenshots. www.image-upload.net/files/3954/Roland Garros/Roland%20Garros%2004s.JPG[/IMG] www.image-upload.net/files/3954/Roland Garros/Roland%20Garros%2007s.JPG[/IMG] As far as I can tell the actual Morane Saulnier used was a 'special' built for Garros and it was the forerunner of their type 'G' and 'H' models. Does anyone know of anything modelled for the sim that would have been nearer to the 'real thing'? It was a nice flight though, plenty of visual 'signposts' for a simple VFR. Leyland

Leyland, I've had a look.....as I'm sure you have......but can't find the aircraft you are wanting. I like your screenshots, but I know what you mean about this sort of thing not really being correct.
Where did you get the Bullet from, incidentally?

And the very best about this story is: GarrosĀ“ engine made problems from the very beginning - but he made it, step by step. That was a tough guy!

Bruce, Look under combat_bullet.zip by Michael Hart, at SOH - there are other colours (some Russian, which I also use). Flies well enough in a WW1 context. I thought of using various Bleriots and Antoinettes (and Dennis's Avro) but they are really older technology than the correct Morane, it seems to be 'betwixt and between' what's available. (Hoping somebody might take a hint, as usual!) Leyland

Leyland, Is this the Morane type that you are referring to? Bruce

Okay...I see the difference.
Nothing on any download site at all, I'm afraid.
