Ottawa, Thursday. After a non-stop flight of over 2700 miles, most of it across the north Atlantic Ocean, the enormous new British passenger aeroplane, the Bristol Brabazon, landed at Ottawa International Airport right on time, almost 11 hours after it departed Filton this morning. Chief Test Pilot for Bristol, Bill Pegg, who is also the Captain for this round-the-world demonstration journey, remarked that the giant aircraft performed faultlessly and experienced no problems as it cruised above 20,000 feet at over 170 miles per hour. The sixty passengers aboard Brabazon, a mixture of representatives of the world press, airline representatives and distinguished persons from many countries, including the British Commonwealth, all expressed delight in the flight and the comfort of travelling in such a splendid example of modern British aeronautical technology. It is the hope of Bristol and the British Government that many sales of Brabazon will be made as a result of not only this initial sojourn across the waters of the Atlantic but also as the aeroplane shows of what it is capable as the circumnavigation of the world continues. Brabazon will be on display until 2:00 PM tomorrow, when it departs for New York and two days of demonstration flights. Thirty miles from Ottawa and Brabazon comes down from its cruising altitude as the sun sets. After landing, halting in front of the new terminal and almost ready to shut-down. Bruce
