What I really want is a Skymaster with VC, but right now the only one with VC is payware You and me both. Love the 337 but no VC stinks

Maybe so, but it's a package where you really get what you pay for!
I love my FSD 337!

Another vote for the ME-108 ;D It's one of my personal favorites.
But, if that's out...
The recently released Socata TBM700 freeware has a great VC, single engine, retractable gear... But it might be a bit much, being a turboprop... It's really more of a light buisness plane than a personal craft.
If retractable gear aren't a must, the Maul M-7 freeware is great, and has a great VC. I'm not sure, offhand, what it's top speed is, however.

The best in this category IMHO is the Real Air SF-260. It' s payware, 24 euros but you get your money worth.
Its a two-seater low cruiser (6 to 9000 feet) with aerobatics potential, speeding at a little more than 150 knots, very nimble yet stable, a very, very good flight model, a superb panoramic cockpit with the second best smooth/crisp VC on the market (the first being the Spit' from the same outfit).
A great little plane !
