Hello all. I have just downloaded and installed the beautiful Piper tri-Pacer that was created by Lynn and Bill Lyons. I have about 10 hours in a Tri-Pacer, and it is a beautiful airplane. The aircraft that Lynn and Bill have created is just like the real thing. One thing that I like that they did was they included a customizable hangar with the aircraft, which you can place at any airport in FS. I navigated my way to the file, and found that they file is in API format, and in order for FS to read it, it has to be in BGL format. The problem is I don't know how I can get the hangar to show up in the addon scenery folder for FS2004 so that I can use EZ-Scenery to place that hangar at my airport. If you have any idea as to what I can do to make this work, please let me know. Thanks again. Chris

Sorry, EZ Scenery will not place the hangar. The API format requires an older style program like Airport for Windows or SBuilder. Arno Gerretson is working on a converter that will rewrite API files so that object placers like EZ Scenery & Instant Scenery will be able to use them. I'm not sure how that stands. Since this is a technical question, I'm moving it to the scenery design forum where others may be able to help.

Thanks Tom,
I can't seem to convert Bill Lyon's Tripacer hangar. Do you know of anyone who could tell me how, in simplistic terms or better still let me download the coverted file with instructions on how to install it with ez scenery.................I'm not as dense as I seem, I hope.

Barry, I have no idea how to do it either. It might be a good idea to ask at the developer's forum.

Barry - are you getting any sort of error messages? Perhaps you can tell us a bit more about what you are doing...

scruffyduck: I really appreciate the way you, and others, go out of your way to help the less knowledgable members of this forum, however, I feel I must ask that you not waste much time trying to help me. I appreciate the effort, but I might be hopeless. I enjoy modifying my aircraft and using ez scenery to "fiddle" with scenery, but I don't seem to have the committment to really become involved in the design aspect of either the aircraft or the scenery. I guess what I want is for someone, somewhere to convert some of the api's so they can be used by ez scenery. Having said that, here is the error message.
An error occured during importing the selected file

Barry No problem - that is what we are here for We all started out as newbies. The best bet on this one is to wait until Arno gets back from his vacation (Oct 19th I think) He is the author of this program and will be best able to deal with the errors. I would suggest posting the error message etc over on www.fsdeveloper.com nearer the time he gets back
