I've been happily using carriers in FS2004 and Golden Hawaii, particularly enjoying the Boeing F4B and Saratoga, but I've been using ArrCab. As this looks for a valid FS9 running in order to work, it doesn't seem to recognise FSGW. Is there a way round this, or must I move to Rbcop?

Moved it to the Golden/Silver Wings forum Dave.
If it's just looking for a file named Fs9.exe a text file may work. If not then a copy of the actual Fs9.exe could be placed in the GW3 folder, but this may be activated by an Fs9 shortcut if you have Fs9 on the same pc.

I don't understand the first bit of that, about a text file, and as for the second, would it recognise an Fs9.exe if it wasn't running? I'll try it, but I am doubtful.

What Roger recommended is to make a new text file and then rename it FS9.exe That is enough to fool most addons.

Thank you. Since reading your post I've tried that, but it doesn't work. I think ArrCab is looking for a running install of FS9, so a dummy exe doesn't fool it.

Some apps check the registry and so will only find the original FS9. In a case like that, one thing you can do is to get one of the registry fix tools and change the registry path to FSGW3. You can change it back and fiorth as needed. Flight1 has one in their free downloads

Thanks again. At the moment I have made a copy of FSGW.exe and called it FS9.exe and it seems to be working. Is this a particularly dim thing to have done?

That's what I used to tell pupils when I taught IT. Seems ok so far.
