Since installing Golden Wings and Silver Wings, I have been flying them almost exclusively. I love them both. I would like to make some pre-set VC views but I am not familiar with the way camera definition is set up in FS9. How are camera views such as the wing views in Jen's Kristensen's aircraft accessed in FS9? Or is it even possible?

Bill used Active Camera to make extra views. (Don't ask me how, LOL) There are several in the Graf but many of his planes had some. Look in your root folder and you will likely see acv files. Those are Active Camera Views. You can check it out here: secure.simmarket.com/anticyclone-active-camera-2004.phtml

Hello Tom, thanks for responding. I have Active Camera demo installed in Silver Wings. Internal views are ok, but it causes everything to shake in external view.
I remember seeing camera definition entries in the aircraft .cfg files of some FS9 aircraft such as Jens IL-14. I thought it might be possible to add views to the .cfg but I couldn't figure out how to access these views through key assignments.

I believe those camera definition files are for FSX. I don't think they work in FS9/GW3/SW.
That was something added to the FSX SDK
To confirm that you might want to drop Jens an e-mail or a PM.

..... Internal views are ok, but it causes everything to shake in external view.... See if this works.... Go up to your tool bar, click on VIEWS, then select VIEW OPTIONS, then select SPOT PLANE, and make sure that "Gradual Transition" is NOT selected. If that works, you should then be able to pan and zoom around the exterior of your aircraft using the middle scroll wheel on your mouse. Tommy

Active Camera is a real must for FS2004; one of those investments you should do in any case; actually it is so good, it was copied and codded into FSX.

See if this works.... Tommy It certainly did, and I thank you for helping me with this. In large aircraft like the Tu-114, it is very useful for me to be able to look back with over-the-shoulder preset views while in the traffic pattern. Again, thanks to everyone for your help. John

'Does the save-flight-exit effectively lock the setting?' If you save the setting to your default flight it will persist. Any new flights you create will use the setting. It will not change the setting in any flights you have previously saved. Similar to Active Camera, the freeware FS Recorder allows you to save custom Tower/Spot/VC views, which can be recalled from menu or keypress. Additionally, it is a flight video recorder much more capable than the default. Info is available here- www.fs-recorder.net/Dave

I have the Active Camera demo at this time and have also downloaded FS Recorder to evaluate both systems. So far, I do not understand the FS Recorder instructions for saving pre-set VC views, but plan to spend some more time tinkering with it. Thanks again. John
