Hey guys. Working on some new textures for MSFS. Can anyone tell me if this looks like FS9 or FSX? I just want to know what you all think since the textures will be for both platforms. Pic #1 below:

Could be my Fs9 installation. But that can also be FSX...so I am not sure. But I am not sure that plane was made for FSX, so...
Nice paint! One small thing to notice from the painter's point of view (if you allow me): try to turn the yellowish\greenish white into something more "warm" (do not paint with pure white but mix it with some yellow for example or orange, Not too much just a bit). At least that is how I do it. Is that a full 32 bits bitmap or a DXT3?

OK guys, this is shot #2 below: I will let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. Shot #1 is FS9 and Shot #2 is FSX. Same location on both. And actually the PMDG 1900D does work in FSX but not fully. I am using the same textures (although modified for format) in both FSX and FS9. I also have replacement ground textures I am using with both and new tree textures as well. This project is still in alpha and may or may not be released depending on if I feel it is worth the extra effort and time to complete. I just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks guys.

I normally make paint an "off white" (maybe putty color at times) but the way the sun was shining on the plane it washed it out and it looks bright white but it is not. And there are DXT3 for the FS9 shot and full 32 for FSX. I did this repaint when the plane first came out and I guess that was 5 years ago maybe?? I hardly do repaints anymore. Just don't have the time.

No Matter how you look at it,and in each view, and on different Sims...its BEAUTIFUL!! Knowing lighting is most important to artists,a Plane ,in the Air,as well as on the ground is subject to all lighting vairations..Planes are not static ,except for magazine covers, making for a varieties of LOOKS in reality! NICE" Keith!!........Vin!!

OK, I noticed DXT3 formats downgrades the original bitmaps so much that sometimes the white turns into a sort of greenish tone. I only use 32 bitmaps for FS9.
From the pics, the only way of saying wich sim it is., is when you see the water (that FSX fsx renders much nicer than FS9). All other fsx improvements are not even recognizable in an screenshot but only ingame.

Yep, no way around the water... FSX has FS9 beat hands down there. Althugh IMO I tihink the FSX water is a bit overdone. Now, framerates are another story.... The exact plane, scenery and weather (same location as pics 1 and 2) I get 12-17 fps in FSX and 47-72 fps in FS9. For an Intel Core i7 3.33Ghz PC with an Nvidia GeForce GTS 460 so I think I can say both are running fairly well with my textures. FS9 looses a few frames (5-7 fps) over default textures but FSX stays the same.

They both look the same - can't see any difference, Keith.
Nice paint!

Like the ground textures in the FS9, looks more detailed but what do I know.. haven't opened the sim for months.
