I'm very sorry if there's already a discussion on this problem - I looked around (for about a minute) and couldn't find anything - yes, yes, I know I may be doing something simple and stupid...er, that's easily corrected.
Well, I just installed George Diemer's Sikorsky S-40 (I have no idea how I missed the S-40 - I have all the others!!!)
Like so many other seaplanes, it won't accelerate in the water in GW3. It accelerated very well on its wheels. It accelerates very well in FS9 in both the wheel and floats modes, but it won't accelerate to more than about 2 kts in the water in GW3.
Now, I've had the problem in a number of other aircraft and just figured it was a creator's quirk in not being familiar with GW3 - just a moment ago I remembered my relative intellect and decided to ask for help.
Is there something simple I'm doing wrong??? Is there a simple setting in one of the aircraft files I can modify to correct the problem?
I didn't contact George directly because it isn't a problem solely with the S-40.
Many thanx!!!

Stew, if you haven't already, try setting the Weather so that there is a breeze.
I've had quirky flying boats that won't move unless there is a breeze blowing.

Too much surface tension on the water without a breeze to kick up some riffles?
