Hello I know I've said I really don't fly heavies or complex aircraft. But I remembered the great Section 8 Sabre. After that I simply could not help myself. I installed it and read the manual, after various successful engine starts and tests, I took the bird into the wind! This marvelous piece of engineering is just such a pleasure to fly, makes me wish I have had the fortune of actually learning how to fly it in the service. But thanks to the wonders of the future and paid electric and internet bills, I can fly this great plane virtually! So here are some shots I took. I may take more shots of the jet piercing through the sky later on. This must be one of the most photogenic jets in FS. Simply a beauty. Enjoy!

I feel the same Intothewind. Another dream come (virtually) true. Great pics, thanks for posting.
Happy landings, John
P.S. I like your avatar.

Thanks John. Is true most simmers have already had their dreams come true thanks to many flight simulators. I'm glad you like my avatar. He is, of course, one of the greatest dreamers of all I also like your avatar. I understand that's a hand-launched glider, right? I build models myself. I like light indoor planes, and peanut or dime scale. I have built some condenser paper ones, they are by far some of the most beautiful to watch fly!

I liked the semi built-up wings and laminated ballast compartment. I built two from plans published in "Flying Models" magazine. I never had much luck with the many Jetco Thermic-B types I used to build, but the Jays changed all that. I was tossing the blue one around while waiting for my turn to fly at an R/C glider meet when it hooked a thermal. We watched it spiral upwards for ten minutes or so until it disapeared. Although I lost the model, I was estatic. I'm glad I built two, this model loves to fly.

Ah yes, I've heard of many a model being lost that way. But I think bigger ones can be fitted with a dethermalizer, although I have heard they don't always work. I currently have several hand-launched gliders, most of them from my own design. All built out of recycled material from steaks or even doggy boxes. That's how I learned to build them, and that's how come my basement looks like a mad-scientist's laboratory, smelling like paper dope and super glue RC is fun but I think rubber powered planes are simply amazing.
