Thanks for your honest thoughts on this, Keith. And since we are all ranting and raving about piracy, a thought occurred to me - A pirate buys a product with his own money and passes it on for free for others to enjoy. Some publishers try to get a product for free and pass it on for money. Who is the nobler one...? Interesting thought. Not to change the subject, but I've heard that one of the reasons the Somali Pirates are so successful is that they pay their bills.

Thanks for your honest thoughts on this, Keith. And since we are all ranting and raving about the crookedness in the FS world, a thought occurred to me - A pirate buys a product with his own money and passes it on for free. Some publishers try to get a product for free and pass it on for money. Which one of those two is worse ..? Both because they both case the customer to pay more for the product (the "loss due to theft factor" has to be added to the retail price) as well as cost the developer to loose sales and thus money as well. Neither is worse and both are to blame for the decline in good products (at good prices) for FS.

Hey guys! I have been gone on a work assignment for a week and just came home. Basically I'm going with an exclusive deal with The fs pilot shop because Nels is my personal friend and They have all the major hits in the community and the other sites just glean from their front page, and the most important reason.. they pay me. FYI---It is always better to go to the home site of any developer that is set up properly with pay pal or another well set up cc vendor package that is legally set up. That way you get it right from the source and most times you will get a far better and faster response for any issues and you will be better supported. The other benefit is that you better support your developers as they will get their payments FASTER and can stay in the game and not have to wait for months on end to get paid if they get paid at all. If they are being paid they will be here longer and you will get a lot more nice additions to your hobby. I understand that there is a need for freeware, I support freeware as well, just look at all the old simtech add ons all over the place I made and now I'm working on a cr1 freeware add on. But if you want to get a add on that is maxed out in detail, features and craftsmanship you have to go payware..its good too as then they have to make sure its better then freeware. But to put that kind of development into a project that can take sometimes a year at 4 to 6 hours a night after work.. that's right ..."after my day job"...you need to get something back from it or its just a bust and a waste of time in your short life span. So when some idiot comes along takes your add on sells many, many copies of it...and then just wont pay you... that is fraud in my books and I'm considering action legally soon if these morons dont smarten up. Its not good for any one, from the developer right down to the customer, even the crook. Its just not a healthy situation for the Hobie, our community and the longevity of the community. With out developers this flight sim stuff is dead in the water and it would disappear over night. Thanks guys for your support , you as always help us to carry on some how, even in the face of some jerks that take but dont pay. You guys rock! Tom Wood--crashwoody Cr1-Software www.cr1-software.com

Great news Tom.....many Thanks for posting!! I've done quite a bit of business with Fs Pilot shop over the years so it does a person good to hear they are one of the "Good Guys!!"
I've always loved this hobby.....in fact, it's about the only hobby I do anymore, (smile) so like many others, I like to support the folks that contribute to this wonderful obsession of mine.
Having been a beta tester for a number of years, I realize how much work goes in to a quality product. One thing I did learn from all that.......you don't get paid nearly enough for the amount of time it takes to produce good stuff!!!!
Best wishes,
