Its not the installs that worries me, its all those disks laying around that have Scenery FS98, Scenery FS2000, Scenery FS2002. They were mostly written in FAT 32 and I can't seem to read the disks with my W7 x64 rig. I've had more 5.25" disks go bad, then 3.5" but I have had some 3.5" diskettes that went bad from 'Old Age'. Let me look into this and get back to you. How many disks are we talking about all together?? ;D Thanks, John! Christopher

Ok, we are talking CDs not floppys. I think I need some program that will read the disks as if they were corrupted. I think the CDs all had the Roxio UDF reader on them which makes them totally impossible to read in NTFS. I suppose I could try and fire up my old 544Mhz rig and see if I can read them, but I think the CD reader was on the fritz, thus the reason for a new machine, and to upgrade.

I suppose I could try and fire up my old 544Mhz rig and see if I can read them, but I think the CD reader was on the fritz, thus the reason for a new machine, and to upgrade. Ahh! I see! I had that same problem! On my Win98 computer I was using Nero's InCD UDF format which basically made the CD's act like a big floppy disk or hard drive. The new WinXP computer didn't have that so I couldn't read those InCD CD's anymore. What I was able to do is go to Nero's website and download an InCD reader which had a driver so WinXP could read the disks again! ;D What you need to do is see if Roxio is still up and around, or if at least their software is. In the case of Nero's InCD they actually installed an app on the CD's that would try to install the reader if a computer wasn't properly equipped with it! Tell me what version of Roxio you were using and I'll see if there are any readers on the net! Thanks, John! Christopher

Try this! I got it from the Roxio Support Website and it's a general UDF reader. Of course, there's no support for it, but it will read UDF disks made under Win98, to WinXP! "This download is for users that do not own a copy of Easy CD Creator or Easy Media Creator and just want to read discs that have been written in UDF. " Once you install the software and reboot, you should be able to read the UDF disks again. The driver runs all the time in the background so there's no need to start it up! Thanks, John! ;D Christopher Attachments:
