Building Quick Drive Consists with RW_Tools Part 1: The preliminaries. Before we can start building consists there are a couple preparation steps to be done. Open RW_Tools. See Fig.1 On the right hand end of the top menu line, click Help and then click "Check for Newer Version" It will tell you your current version and then open a page to download the latest. V5.0.43 is the latest as I type. If you need a newer version, extract the files and let them over-write. Be sure to close RW_Tools as it will not copy the new version if the file is in use. Next, also see Fig.1 Open RW_Tools and click Edit Assets and Asset Editor on the top menu line. That will display the view in Fig.2. The window title is Build List of Assets. There are 3 easy steps 1. Check Rolling Stock Only. (You do not want to sift through a list of every scenery asset in TS2014!) 2. Click Add to List and watch the list build in the bottom window. #4 points at a counter that will tell you how many assets you have. When it stops counting, go to 3. Click Save Stock Index. You will get a warning message telling you you need to do steps 1 & 2. Just say yes or OK or whatever and the list will be saved. If you want to look at the list as a file, in C:\Program Files (x86)\RW_Tools\Reports, you will find Index.csv which can be opened in Excel but don't bother This is the end of Part 1. Attachments:

I tried this Tom, and this has always been the results I received when attempting this procedure, no matter what version I have used. BTW, I updated to version 5.0.43 and got an error 339 when opening the Asset Manager even though everything seemed to copy properly, so I am using 5.0.38. It was something to do with the SuperPicture2.ocx file or a related file. As you can see from my results I got a big goose-egg in the Total Items text display box........ UGH!!

Well, that is a puzzle. I have no brilliant ideas at the moment.
In the past couple of days I may have learned the solution John.
Download the latest full version and install as administrator. Add the latest update. Set the exe file to run as administrator as well.

I guess I forgot to reply to this Tom. Yah, I figured it out after recovering my key for the RW Tools app. Now it is like every time a new version comes out I have to do a complete uninstall/install to make it all work, but no biggy, it is working great now. Thanks for the heads up.
