Okay.....so I'm an idiot!!! I thought I'd give a try at creating a route.............BAD IDEA!!!!! (smile) I created a route called Test Track 01. I quickly realized I haven't a clue what I'm doing, so thought I'd exit out and just delete the route. Now I'm stumped as I can't delete it..............any ideas? BTW......I'm pretty sure the route is "locked".....will that cause extra problems? Is there somewhere that a folder or something is stored that I can just delete the folder? Lesson learned...........keep away from creation modes and let the experts who know what they are doing have at it. (smile) The good part about it......I only added about 6 pieces of track........nothing else. Geezzzz what the heck was I thinking!!! Cheers,

Steve, I thought that you just go into the Editor, highlight the route and hit the delete key on your keyboard. Obviously that doesn't work.
So try going into it through Windows Explorer, via the following path (which is where mine is). C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\railworks\Content\Routes
When you get into the Routes folder you'll find that the names are coded...they make no sense. So then look at the most recent folder's creation date and if it's the same date as when you created the route, just delete it.
But make sure that it is the ONLY ONE with that date/time. If more than one then you'll need to go into the folder(s) and find a txt or html file that you can open to read the information.

My Hero once again Bruce!!!! (smile)
There were actually 5 folders....however, since that is the only thing I did today....I copied all 5 folders to a backup drive, and deleted the ones in the directory. That seems to take care of it, but will keep the "backup" for a couple weeks, just in case.
Whew......Don't think I'll get into the route building. (smile)
My nephew's son turns 6 this week, and I just purchased him a "beginner" HO set for his birthday.......I always would have liked to have gotten into model railroading...but just never really had the time nor space to dedicate to such a hobby.
SOOOoooo, I thought I'd satisfy my "creative" needs with computer railroading. Guess I'll stick to just driving and dreaming of a model railroad someday. (smile)
I used to toy around with Trainz several years back.....scenery and route creation was rather simple as I remember......I'm either getting much older than I thought....or things have just gotten more complicated. (smile)
Cheers,

Steve, Good to read that it worked.
If you have an interest in the route-creation side, the best way to start is to clone an existing route and fiddle with that. Then you have no worries about affecting the default.
That's how I started years ago with Trainz, before going on to create a couple from scratch, which ultimately were published.

That's EXACTLY what I've done Bruce.....I'm starting to get the idea, and as I suspected....it's really not has hard as I thought it was going to be...just time consuming.
The hardest part for me, is trying to naviagate around the screen......Trying to move up and down, or back and forth to get a better view, seems terriably hard! But I have learned.....SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN!!!!! (smile)
Once again my friend, Thank You!!!!!

Steve, I think the key to deleting through the UI is to make certain the route isn't locked. I have never had a problem using the build menu to remove a route I didn't care for that I may not have liked or had problems.
Also, you can identify the route in the Routes folder by opening Notepad and dragging and dropping the RouteProperties.xml file into Notepad that is present in each of the route folders with the hex names. In Notepad, there is a line <DisplayName> that has the route name in it. But, going through the UI and its build menu is much easier.
