Here's a tutorial by Paul Godber that opened my eyes to the editor and I could actually follow it

Just a quick follow-up.
For me...this is probably one of the greatest finds!!! One of the biggest.....well...can't say "complaints"....more of an irritation, has always been the lack of traffic when I do a "Quick Drive". A lot of the Standard drive stuff is just too long and takes up too much time.
Tonight I just played around with the tutorial, and this will work perfectly for my type of game play.
Many Thanks again.........perhaps if I live long enough, someday I might actually become "smarter.".........Nah....I'm dreaming again. (smile)
Cheers,

Well.....I thought I'd go in today and see if I could Really get something going. AHHHH....the frustration!!! (smile)
For some odd reason I haven't yet figured out......sometimes the "pop-out" on the RH side of the page disappears and try as I might, I can't seem to get it to come back. OR.....When I try to add an AI Spawn....I can add it, however, again....the pop-out never "pop's out".....
Perhaps I'm only made to just drive the train....let others worry about developing stuff. (smile)
Cheers,

Sorry, I've been away. Dirty job visiting Northern Europe, but someone has to do it. When I get the pictures online I'll put links in the Pilot's Grill. But regarding the right hand flyout? Yes it can be frustrating. What you need to do is circle around the post until you find the active spot. It will be on the lower 3rd of the post and seems to be on only one side. Be sure to tack that flyout as soon as you get it and remember Paul's instruction to hit enter after every entry. Practice will make it easier of course. For me, this was the best tutorial ever. As you said, it allows me to "do it my way." A couple suggestions based on my experience so far: For routes with large yard areas, you can use the editor to place filler cars. There are some low poly freight cars floating around perhaps on Railworks America. Also if you make an A-B run from one end to the other, you can place statics and then clone the scenario (2-3 times?) Then you can edit for various starting locations and AI without needing to fill the yards and sidings each time.
