Been checking back, but seems awfully quite around here. Hope I'm not the only one still flying FS9GW.

Hi Stoney, I'm here, flying GW3 everyday and loving it. Just completed a 2000 mile shakedown cruise around the Adriatic in the new CANT Z.1007 by Milton Shupe and Manuele Villa. The screenshot was taken between LGRX Araxos Greece and LIBN Lecce-Galatina on the homeward bound leg. Home in this case is LIMA Aeritalia, Torino, Italy. Happy landings, John

Hi guys- I'm still on the right side of the grass, but essentially out of flight simming. My FS9/GW installs went away last Fall in a hard drive crash and some kind of corruption took my last FSX install. I seem to lack the will to reinstall any of that stuff which leaves me with Flight, where I fly my PA-18 several times a week around Kauai, and for the last 2 1/2 years I have been enjoying Railworks/Train Simulator 20xx. You will find me most often in the Old Roundhouse forum. Who knows, when Winter rolls around again I may decide I want to get back to GW3 or Orbx enhanced FSX, but from where I sit at the moment, its unlikely.
Still, for those who want to keep the fires burning, the forum will remain for the foreseeable future, but don't depend on me for any exciting posts.

Sorry to hear Tom has drifted away.
I must admit that, thought I did reinstall FS9 & GW3 after a major problem about 2 years ago, I never reinstalled FSX - even through Virtual Flight Air America went to FSX and their Laos/Thailand/Cambodia/'Nam stuff is very worthwhile! - I've just got too much time and energy invested in my FS9 & GW3 operations and virtual Wacker Excursion and Transport Service(WETS). I do still visit here, FlighSim.com, and AvSim.com daily, with weekly forays to about 30 other sites - the number of those sites is declining.
Tom explained to me last year, when I worried the site was dying, that summers were the doldrums and the numbers of visitors would increase significantly after the hot weather. He was, of course, absolutely correct as I watched the regulars begin pasting again and the number of visitors go way up over the other parts of the years - to the 500s on many days.
Yeah, the last few days have been very dry on the site, but keep your heart happy - the place we visit will survive!!!

God to hear guys are still flying. I try to devote at least one hour a day, except Sundays, to fly. I really enjoy flying bush in my Travel Air 6000A. I do find it a little harder to make time in the summer as I fly rubber power free flight scale in the evening most days if the weather cooperates. I sure would like to see some new 1920 - 30's scenery for GW3.

I dabble in FS scenery some here and there, and I have installed FS9 & FSX on my new rig that cost about $300USD with great graphics and some overclocking. I usually find time on Sundays, especially early morning when the rest of the family are still in bed, to enjoy flights of different types, but my favorite is low and slow. For some reason, I never even attempted to install GW# on my new rig, never even thought about it.
I enjoy TS2014 also, and have made some attempts at creating a personal railroad, but that has slowed to a snails pace as I have acquired a new job which is rather on the heavy labor side, and after spending 40+ years in the automotive parts business my body has been complaining a lot. But, I do try to stay active in both FS and TS, so I will be around these forums as long as I can enjoy everyone's company.

Yup, hard core flight simming seems to have died a bit of a death round these parts nowadays but it's no less of a place despite that as it's the glue that held us all together in the first place and is still (one) of our common interests. Maybe that's why we all like it here so much, because we share such a wide range of other interests and experiences besides flight simming and I think that's why this place is rather unique compared to the other 'flightsim' forums. I'll keep coming back and hanging out here all the while it's doors are open and I suspect that most (all?) of the other hardcore TOH-ites feel just the same. Roger PS I've just managed to cobble together a PC to get me back on-line again. I decided to go for the upgrade to a new mobo and faster AMD processor and it was only when I was finishing re-assembling my main PC that I found I needed DDR3 memory and my old DDR2 wouldn't fit. Luckily I still had my 'spare' rig that I always had to have in reserve while I was running my internet-based business and I've managed to get that working and back on-line again. What a fiddle-dee-dee these ruddy PCs are

We do a lot of reminiscing and that can only be done when the participants fall into a similar age group.

Gil and I are still very much around and Golden Age Simulations continues to develop models for FSX and P3D. We've recently been interviewed by FlightSim.com and TOH has been credited for providing the support and encouragement that started us and keeps us going. Glad to see so many responses here.
