1st - thanks so much for this new forum! I've already picked up some good tips and learned a few things by reading the posts here. Now my situation -- I've recently loaded some new scenery, mainly some WW2 airfields into GW3, and the Abacus Flight Deck 4 into FS9. I had no problems loading them and they worked great for a while. However, now when I want to select one of these airfields after a fresh boot they do not appear in the airfield list. I have to go to the scenery library, "uncheck" and "recheck" the specific scenery, then exit and renter the Sim. Then they appear and are usable. Is there a way to correct or prevent this from happening so that this addon scenery remains in the airfield lists? Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions. LDF

From a post in another TOH forum, sounds like you need to delete the scenery.cfg file in the same folder as the Fs9(GW3) .CFG.
The sims will operate fine as long as you leave the scenery.cfgs in the Main Fs9/GW3 folders.

This happens to me once in a while. I just delete the Dat file in the addon scenery folder. The flight sim will make a new one, and all scenery will be there.

I think the problem is switching between Fs9 and GW3. That's why the additional scenery.cfg in the same folder as the Fs9/GW3.cfg, needs deleting.

Thanks for the replies, Roger and Robert.
But, I'm a little confused.
Roger, I have two totally separate installs, one for each (GW3 and FS9). I've looked in both main folders and each has a "scenery.cfg" file. I've also looked in the "Config" folders for each install and there is no "scenery.cfg" in either of these folders.
So, I'm not sure I understand which "scenery.cfg" you're telling me to delete.

I think Roger means the fs9 folder that is hidden. Local C/ Doc @ settings/ Your name/ Application Data/ Microsoft/ FS9. Never thought of this. Thanks Roger.

As LDF's and Windrunners topic are the same I'll post this reply here only. The problem arises because when you make changes to the Scenery Library several files, some shared, are modified. These include: -The scenery.cfg file in the sim's main folder. This is unique to each install and doesn't cause a problem. -Several files in C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\ folder and the \Facilities\ subfolder. These files are shared by all your sim installs so changes made in one Scenery Library effect them all, most noticeable in the airport list. One solution: Create a new user account (with administrative privilege) for each of your extra sim installs and run each for its own account. When you first run each sim from it's new account it will build the C:\.......\<new user>\..........\FS9\ folder. You can then move the proper <FS9>.cfg to the new location. Each sim will now have it's own (previously shared) files. Dave

Finally located the folder and the scenery.cfg file you referred to. I deleted it but it didn't help. After reestablishing the sceneries in their respective main folders and flying them a couple of times, the problem is back. I checked the "common FS9" folder and the game had created another scenery.cfg file. Guys, I appreciate your suggestions, but I'm no genie when it comes to figuring this stuff out. You guys never cease to amaze me with your "finds" and "nuggets" of wisdom. However, this sounds as though it could get complicated (for me), so, I can live with what it's doing. Thanks again, gents, and I'll be watching for more "Tips and Tweaks" Steve
