Hello all, I am rebuilding my sim from scratch. What I cannot find is a little addon I downloaded maybe half a year ago that smoothens the borderline of ground-fog. I lost that one. Had it from one of the major sites. Who knows the name of it? I did quite a while of search with no effort.

Hi Slide, never heard of that. Sounds very interesting, if you find it again, let me know, I'd like to give it a try.

never heard of it either but that sounds nifty enough. I wish I had it, The matsot appareance of the low visibility layer as seen from above. is THE most annoying bug of FS9. And NO, I didn't ask whether it was still present in FSX. I didn't so don't answer me.

Yes, Dominique, the appareance of the low visibility layer as seen from above is the most annoying bug of FS9. ;D First I thought it was my equipment, but other people seem to see the same straight "surface" line, much more like a liquid. Well, chaps, let´s go on searching. And I am running out of search-terms... This file was a very good solution and changed my usual low-and-slow-perspectives to a much better view. I will post the link in here if I can find it, Windrunner!

Isn't something you got with a weather or texture payware add-on ?

Definitely not, Dominique. I know it was a small freeware from avsim or All-Nodes-busy.

Definitely not, Dominique. I know it was a small freeware from avsim or All-Nodes-busy. LOL I don't know about a small singular freeware, but the hiPerf Cloud set from the folks who bring us FS Skyworld have such a beast. You can grab them both here: fsw.simflight.com/

Dominique:
I just installed HiFPSv2.zip according to the directions. Used the 32 bit version and then took off in fog, climbed and looked down from 3000 ft. Et voila! Realistic fog below me.
v2 has a cumulus bmp. The scanty documentation included says fs9 uses that to make stratus clouds, including fog. Maybe thats why it works. In any case, it worked for me.

thanks, I gotta try again even if I prefer the default clouds...
Do you've the ability to set up stratus layers still or is it all cumulus now ?

Hi Full! No, I have been there before. I have installed Foxwolfen´s suggestion, but have not tried these textures yet.

Hi try blue sky center library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=86807also try this open the fs9.cfg and find the section for the video card starts like this [DISPLAY.Device.blah blah blah] if you have updated the video driver there can be a number of these so find the very last one then add TableFog=0 or 1 try 0 first then 1 as it has a different effect on different video cards cheers Wozza

Thanks for that tip Wozza. Dom, there is also the full texture version of the clouds I mentioned called FSSkyWorld. It is IMO as good as any pack out there, and looks way way better than the default (much richer and volumous). fsw.simflight.com/fsw2004.html I would suggest not using the Cirrus clouds, but the Cumulus have many many choices to suit your needs. I do not use any other parts of FSSkyWorld but the clouds (I prefer the default sky - I have never seen the purples some people put int their skies in the real world. Cheers Shad
