There is one more gauge I want to get rid of ... I would like to replace it with a radio ... more along the lines of the Radio/CD player ... but the one available is rather modern ... someting from the 50s or 40s would be ideal. Any Ideas? ?? Dale

Note the above ... apologies to Arlo and Alice's Restaurant .... and the 8x10 color glossy photos with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one was.

Radio: only thing I can think of would be one of the 'radiocd.gau' from from Bill's aircraft. They don't have their own bit maps but rather just place the click points on the radio that is draw on the panel bmp.
Strobes: Check the [Lights] section of the aircraft.cfg

Have that one ... don't mind it not being "clickable" -- it will replace the gauge in the screen shot above. But was wondering if there were an "older" looking radio available.

Flying C-130s in the 70s, we just tuned the ADF to the broadcast stations. Of course we thought we'd invented the idea, till my dad mentioned how after VJ day he used to leave Honolulu in a C-54, tune in KNBC (680 kc; it's called something else these days) and follow the needle all the way to the bay area. Of course I have no idea what kind of xml you'd need to get the DC-3's ADF to play music ....

Since I don't use GPS .... I switched out the GSP Gauge for the Radio/CD player ... so it is activated by the GPS Icon

The panel I ended up with (as shows in the last screen shot I posted) .. uses most all his gauges ... the exception being the addition of the attitude gauge from a P-51, vintage Cessna heading gauge, and the Radio/CD player. I am impressed with his panel for the DC-3 as it also provides nifty little features such as a co-pilot's view and working panel ... and upper panels for both that don't obstruct the view forward when you "pull them down"

Dale, Re. Bill's radiocd.gau's; I was mistaken, they do draw their own bezels. If you have the Travel Air package it's radiocd player should work. It will give you an old Setchell-Carlson radio. The gauge is 'radiocd4o.gau'. Here is the line from a test I did in a different panel. gauge50=radiocd4o!radiocd, 0,567,128,49 of course you'll have adjust the numbers. Dave

Changed out the Radio .... Thanks for the help. On to my next DC-3 project ... figuring out how to get those engines to really smoke on start up ... as does the DC-4 and DC-6. Open to suggestions. Dale
