I d/l'ed the Golden Hawaii package mainly for the Sikorsky S-43 which is a really nice plane. I planned to repaint it to a late-1941 Navy JRS-1, but all the exterior surface is on one .bmp file which is all bare metal and portions are repeated for fuselage, main wing pillar, rudder and upper/lower wing and tail surfaces. This is fine for an overall bare-metal or one-color plane, but not for a blue and gray military paint job with rudder stripes. Any repaint experts know of a way to do this, other than asking the maker to re-map the textures? I got the GH package as freeware but at this point I'd pay just to have the textures re-mapped so I could do my Navy bird.

Willy of Outhouse fame has repainted the S43; maybe ask him?

Up through the S-43, all of Bill's planes were made without repainting in mind. They can be repainted, but as for method, you are on your own. (See the FAQ) Bill does not paint using layers so there is no chance of a paint kit. Again, you are on your own (See the FAQ) The Goose and after are easier to repaint but still no paint kit. (See the FAQ)
Now I do not normally speak for Bill but in this case I feel confident enough to say there is no chance of any re-mapping of textures or any other model modificatioons to any of the 13 Custom Classics. They are finished. You may of course modify anything you wish for your own use only. You may freely share ideas but not files (without Bill's express permission) That's why this forum was started
This support forum is a place where users can help users and occasionally Bill will answer a question or make a suggestion, but his efforts are being spent on Golden Wings, NOT on Custom Classics. The staff and some other users will do everything they can to help you get things working, but, ultimately, our recommendation for packages that don't work for you is to delete them and move on, same as for any freeware.
