As a long time user of Flight Sim from my old 8-bit Atari with wire frame buildings to FS9, this version and the creations from Bill and Lynn make my day. I have been around aircraft all my life and spent 21 years in Naval Air working on the A-6 Intruder. Growing up in Alaska and being in Civil Air Patrol up there I saw lots of older planes. Like many who just downloaded what amounts to a ton of aircraft I am still firing up the sim and trying out each to see what I can see. The eye-candy is great. I note many postings listing different scenery and features that I can't wait to try and find them.
The Golden Hawaii package is awesome and the Kellet is fun to fly.
I always enjoyed the Grumman Goose model and watching it fly. It was an early freeware download for the Mike Stone release. Bill's model is superb with the VC and I love the water dripping from the panel. The Classic Goose package is the only one so far that I have been trying the flights. I have been looking at all of the forums looking to see if anyone else has seen the problem I have with a couple of them. The Flight to Baku states watch out for the volcano and look for the Gold Monkey. No matter how I set the sliders (currently all maxed) I have no features other than bushes and the volcano on the island. In the Flight to Cargo Cult Island to find the downed DC-3 I am seeing the same thing. The island is nothing more than a tropic island with bushes and a large hill in the center. What am I missing in regards to scenery for at least those two. I even did a fresh download from a different site and reinstalls to make sure there were no errors.
The first time I installed it there was an error prompt about write protected files and did I want to overwrite them. For the second install I reset all of the files in FS9 so they were not read-only. No error that time, but still no scenery. I do have the scenery showing for Bora Gora though and the AI aircraft show up fine. Other than bare islands at the destinations the package works very well with good fps.
My system is a P4-1.5GHZ, 512MB Ram, 2 - 80GB drives, ATI Radeon 7500 w/64MB, Audigy sound and a DVD and CD-RW drives. Not a true screamer by current standards but it has held up well since I built it.
Again thanks for the great add-ons

With all the views and no replies, it appears I have a question with no answer. Now that GW3 is out I plan on making a new install and doing the configure with GW3 and my older aircraft and hopefully this will clear up any scenery quirks. From what I have been seeing in the forum I can't wait to get this setup. The new locales look great. Again thanks to Lynn and Bill!
