Hi, I am a brand new rookie from Barcelona. Some days ago i downloaded Bill Lyon's incredible planes, and I do not believe in ghosts, but... Whenever I am flying either S-43 or the G-21, sometime between taking off and the first 3 minutes, all of a sudden I get a high pitch noise, something like a fire alarm, the game is blocked, though the plane keeps flying and after a few seconds my computer reiniciates by itself. I have tryed everything, from deactivating the VC autopilot to setting the game to easy, just in case both planes had modeled engine damage like the Quad, and my rough flying was causing the trouble, but I keep getting the fire alarm. Anybody knows how to get rid of this ghost?.
Thank you

It could be the radio/CD player which can be deactivared. If you look in the readme files for those planes you should find instructions for deactivating.

I appreciate your help Tom, but both the radio and the VC autopilot were already deactivated. A friend of mine at the local flightsim club has suggested I go through Microsoft fs9 knowledge base and this what I am doing now. I f I find a solution I will let you know just in case the fire alarm ghost, as a good ghost, is in several computers at the same time.

Hello Torrens, It might be that the sounds are overloading your sound card. Try renaming the S-43 sound folder to soundx and flying for a few minutes to see if that is the problem. It will be quiet but see if the ghost appears! You might have to substitute the DC3 sounds if that turns out to be the problem. Best, Bill

Thank you Bill. I will have to wait to try what you suggest because I have decided to make a partition in my computer and use one hard disk and windows XP exclusively for FS9. Anyway I am almost sure it will work because I have the feeling that the problem has to do with sound more than cfg. By the way: thank you for your great planes. Next time you open your shop I will be queing in line to buy your add-ons.

You got it right Bill. I tryed G-21. S-43 and the PA-23 that had the same problem, all of them with deactivated sound file and the ghost is gone. Now I only have to find sound files for those planes. Thank you.
