Hi to everyone at the old hangar! I just signed on this morning. My name: John Skokan "blueeagle44". I have been a frequent visitor to Golden Wings and the Old Hangar. I was very pleased to see the new site. However, since I had a computer crash, lost all FS9 stuff, including my Golden Hawaii, which did work perfectly before, now shows no 1930 vintage scenery, just regular fs stuff. I reinput my code from Bill Lyons, but it did not seem to help. I have the planes, but no scenery. Very frustrating. Anyways, I have also downloaded Golden Wings program and scenery, and am going to try to install it within 2 days. I don't have a lot of computer time, so it may not get done quickly. I would be happy if I could get GH to work properly. Thanks, happy flying.

Did you run the scenery 'switch' that changes GH scenery from era to modern and back?
Exit the sim, then run.... ......(FS9)\scenery\ocen\golden_hawaii.exe

Hello John, The Golden Hawaii program can be downloaded at flightsim.com or avsim.com. Reinstal it from that downlaod and be sure to use the switch program in Scenery\Ocen to switch the scenery back to the 19303s, Best, Bill

Hey Bill! As always, you are quick to answer. Thanks a bunch. Will I need a new password or code key, or will it still work? Also, do I have to delete the non-working GH from FS9? Thanks Bill and Lynn. Oh, it's great to have you back. I missed you guys. Also, love the Piper Tripacer, and Luscomb, and Piper Apache. I like the cardinal flying by the plane. Like the muddy field runway in Minnesota too, I have a son that lives in Minnesota. Again Thanks, and great flying> John

Oh yeah, by the way, I have not been able to download anything from AVSIM for about a year. I have been working with someone from that site to try and correct the problem but no luck. I use SBC Yahoo, and also tried MS Explorer, shut off the blockers, still nothing. So I have a hard time getting your files. Wish you still had your own website to download from. Oh well, Thanks again, John

John, No password needed. Download from flightsim.com. Just install over your old installation and it should be ok. Bill

OK, Dave and Bill, I did what you said, and IT WORKED!!! I don't know why my GH Icon on my desktop did not do the trick, I have been using it for two weeks, and it said it was switched, but, it wasn't. So I went exploring and clicked on GH.exe in windows, and now I have a "GOLDEN HAWAII"! Thanks a million. Now maybe I will run USA Roads, and remove all these modern roads while I go back it time, and fly the Sikorsky, or maybe the Goose, me and Corky, that is. Golden Wings, here I come..........

A quick and I am sure ... already well answered question... but, hey I am an old person..so cut me some slack.. LOL I have installed Golden Wings... well, so much for the stock FS9 ... I thought I had re-stalled Golden Hawaii over... but don't see the switch icon.. but no matter, am downloading it again... and besides I needed a ziped copy to transfer over to my back-up CD containing ALL my vintage stuff. The question... once installed, do I still need to "flip the switch" as it were? On another matter... posted and running over at another spot.... but thought I would mention it...concerning EXCBuilder, I had suggested that the person, exclude in FS9 and then move the EXC file over ... As I had done with a portion of Washington National ... I am planning on reinstalling FS9 in a very basic form... and trying out this method and agian and again and see just how practical this really is... it "looks good on paper"... LOL Dale

Alright... re-installed... Switch is set to active... of course scenery overal is old time...however none of the Golden Hawaii areas show up... for example the Pan Am Sea plane base... and such.

There is no Pan Am seaplane base in Golden Hawaii. There was one in the Classic Goose package and of course there was the Boeing 314 package

ALRIGHT... I am totally and utterly stumped and mystified... When I first downloaded Golden Hawaii... it contained A seaplane starting point near Honolulu ... also all but eliminated the more modern airports... cutting down the total number to but a handful. I can't get it to do that in GW3 ... So I went to the pains of re-installing a stripped down version of FS9...figuring -well, if nothing else .. perhaps on my computer ... maybe it only works with fs9 ... and at worst... I would use fs9 for Hawaii flying only. BUT the same thing .. the modern stuff is stil there... for the most part ... interestingly the first time I installed the Golden Hawaii ... the switch setting... once set would always remain there ... either setting ... now I notice I have to open it and slect EACH time before I start flightsim... and with Golden Hawaii activated I do recall it being the same...meaning as prestine and 30ish as before. what would I need ot move... from what to what to make GOlden Hawaii PERMENENT in - for sure this simple FS9 and or in GW3... probably safest doing it to the minumal FS9 ... And WHERE DID MY SEAPLANE BASE GO? ? LOLOL Also... although I draged and dropped the goose back into the FS9 and I know I did that in recverse when I first set up GW3 ... going to reopen the package and re-install in both... holding back the aircraft, however as I fixed... according to suggestion - the panel to eliminate the VC gauage glare... Two things Dale. There is no Pan Am seaplane base in Golden Hawaii. You must have also installed the Classic Goode package which contains the PanAm dock in Honolulu. And the AI that uses it.
Now as to the Golden Hawaii problem, I don't know why the switch is not working for you. However, if you wish to make Golden Hawaii permanent, read the FAQ. Its the first entry
