Never never never hit Alt to bring up the menu at the top of the screen. I did this to adjust my sticks null zones. I never regained real control and the autopilot only stood the Graf Zeppelin on its nose. I hypothesize that the, engines having shut off because I hit Alt, the ship rose suddenly several thousand feet and the AP was trying to get to cruising altitude. Manuvers only got me to 11K feet and I could not reach 1800 where I had been cruising. The best I could do playing with engines and gas was 4K. The passangers not to say the company would not have been pleased ,

Aha! One thing I did not try. Everything but full negative.
I'll tell you Roger, If I had the structural damage on I would have pulled apart like the Macon.
I'm posting another thread with Qs but hit Alt and the engines are killed. And that messes up a lot of other stuff. Bill says right in the manual to do the flights in full screen. And as you know Bill means what he says. ;D

Hmm...I haven't used the autopilot yet - but I've used "Alt" before with no problems....

No, not another thing that only happens on my computer. I thought I was giving a timely warning to the unwary. Argg! I swear it happened twice. Once when I tuned the nulls to zero. And once when I set them back to normal. That was two different flights. Two restarts Lakehurst to New York.
And, Kofi, how do you handle the rudder so the course isn't all over creation? Or is that another thing only happening to me?

When using rudder you have to think a few seconds ahead like with a real ship. The inertia of such a large object requires one to anticipate the time to straighten the rudder so as not to over-steer.

Maybe part of my problem is the 4-10 Fps frame rate. Time to start turrning down the terrain and such.

I had to turn 'traffic' down to under 20% to get reasonable frame rates. Maybe try that Roger.
