Hello,
I was lead here by way of the help file found in the "cc13p22f.zip" on Flight Sim site. So please tell me if I am in the wrong place.
Well,
I seem to be experiencing instability with the aircraft. When I load up the aircraft on a sparsely populated area (country) I get very very very low framerates as opposed the the other aircraft. I have found this same thing on another set of aircraft which I believe is made by the same person.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if I could have some assistence.
My system specs are high enough to run other aircraft with 50 fps normal. This one just has a problem (Way to many polys?)
Regards,
John

Well I can't really help you there, but welcome to the forums anyways, I came here in the same means and I find that everyone around here is friendly and helpful!

Try following the instructions to disable the music playing radio. It causes problems on some systems.

When Bill makes an airplane he goes right to the bleeding edge of technology and sometimes that does not play well on some systems. We have found no real pattern but as KBR said, disabling the AM?FM Radio/CD gauge seems to help on some machines. I have flown the TriPacer regularly on a Sony P4 2.66GHz w/nVidia 5700, on a Gateway laptop with no sociallly redeeming qualities and I will try it tomorrow on an Athlon 64 and see what happens.
Also I am going to move this thread to Custom Classics support. You will also find some useful discussions there.

Hi Again,
I have checked the CD/Radeo Device and found it not to be the problem (i.e. I turned it off).
I have also noticed this plane has caused a crash after exiting to main menu sometimes.
System Specs:
AMD Sempron(tm) 3300 +, 2.2 Ghz Processor Duel Channel Memory, 1Gb DRAM DDR400, ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb DDR1 Pro, whole bunch of other things....
Not sure what the problem is but the poly's seem to be low enough. Any ideas?
Regards,
John

I can't imagine what's wrong. It's one of the nicest behaving planes I own here. I just flew for an hour over FS Genesis 38m mesh and Ultimate Terrain USA from and to airports with modest add-ons that I have made while carrying a heavy load in FS Cargo. My frames averaged 26 for the session on a Sony Pentium 4 2.66GHz with 1 Gb RAM and nVidia FX5700/128Mb graphics.

Thing is, all planes by that author are unstable. (DeHavilland Goose) This is a mystery to me. Is there anything uncommon about them? Do they have "special" effects I should be aware of that make other aircraft different? This is very interesting.

Everything is uncommon about Bill's planes. Everything he does stretches the envelope. BUT I have beta tested every one of his aircraft since 1999 and I have never had an instability problem or a frame rate problem with any release. The only problem I have ever had was an incompatability with one version of the Radio/CD gauge with one sound card. I replaced that gauge with an older version and everything worked fine. BUT the Radio/CD gauge is a known problem on many systems. There have been occasional computers where Bill's planes don't run well or at all and in most cases we don't know why. I assume it is something in the computer setup that conflicts with something in the aircraft, but with so many variables it has never been possible to find a reason let alone a solution in some cases. You may have to give up on the TriPacer.

Hello Tom and John, Just happened to be in the neighborhood! Just turning off the player won't help.. Try taking the radiocd gauge out of the flightsim folder and see if that is the problem. Best, Bill

Yes, definitely try removing the gauge (or comment it out of the panel.cfg for the plane, by putting // before the line for radiocd gauge). I recently upgraded my system-- improved video card, added another 512 RAM, and as an afterthought threw in and old sound card I had. My framerates on Custom Classics plummeted! It took me a long time to get the answer, because I was focusing on the new vid card settings. Then I remembered something about the radio, and after removing it the planes run very well now!
