Flying the LZ with the music playing almost brings a tear to the eye. What a time that must have been.Dr. Eckener is smiling somewhere I agree completely. Flying the Bill's Graf is absolutely magical. It's very immersive. We can only imagine how much fun it was to fly in the real Graf. (sigh) Brian

I realize the config, etc, were juggled and manipulated to simulate LTA flight, but I am curious . . . does the model use any fuel at at all? any work arounds for it?

I am now so ashamed I never bought this Zepp.... Normally I fly warbirds and jets, so I never even considered buying the Zeppelin, thinking I would never like flying something as slow and big as that... Boy was I wrong !! This sure is Bill's masterpiece ! Combined with GW3 it is a totally unique experience; so many great details are put into this Zeppelin and the included scenery. Any way I can still pay for this ?

Thanks Lynn and Bill. I've waited for this one a long time. Also, many thanks for GH. In my opinion it's still the best FS addon ever made. Bob

Here are a couple of things I did to really add to the already enjoyable experience of the LZ127. *Go to Amazon and order a copy of Graf Zeppelin & Hindenburg by Harold Dick. Dick, an american, worked for Dr Eckener on both zeps as an engineer, The book is filled with facts, figures, accounts, photos, maps instructions etc and makes the sim even more fun. *Also order a copy of "Dr. Eckeners Dream Machine" by Botting. It is a full history of the LZ127. Wonderful read. *Make a couple of practice flights on the South American run to sort things out. Try it real time and real weather (auto pilot of course). *When you are ready recreate the 1929 round the world flight with real weather. You will need the first book listed above to really do it right. It will give you a wonderful understanding of what a truely remarkable and revolutionary event this was. The world was a much bigger place then.
On my round-the-world I would set the auto pilot and nav and then check back when I could. One night I couldnt sleep and got up to check on the Zep. As I walked into the office I could see flashes of light reflected around the darkened room. I discoverd the zep had flown into a huge storm east of Japan. Thunder, lightning and rain but the old girl was bumping along at about 1000 feet bravely pushing on across the Pacific. Well, I sat there for about an hour just watching from various positions around the ship and from outside. (do use Active Camera) I thought about what it would have been like for the crew and passengers. Eckener always said it was an expedition. Just amazing. Once again my thanks to Bill and Lynn for this extraordinary program. And a salute to the brave men, woman and dog who shrank our world.

I realize the config, etc, were juggled and manipulated to simulate LTA flight, but I am curious . . . does the model use any fuel at at all? any work arounds for it? Yes, it does burn fuel. The fuel flow scalar is set to a very small fraction to simulate the huge amounts of fuel carried for transatlantic and transcontinental flights. If you wish to run out of fuel in Mid-Ocean, you can adjust that nuimber.

Thanks, wasn't sure and mostly was curious . . . about the fuel. . . . and yes, does your last post indicate Bill is doing another plan?
