I'm curious as to what people have come up with for Gmax to fine tune the drawings in the viewport. Personally, I don't understand why a program designed to render a 3d image can keep a detailed background image with it being all pixellated and hard to see. Here is how I have mine set up...

looks about right kevin,
did you try to turn off the box (1024) on Background Texture Size? see if you can just have "match bitmap as close as possible" only selected.
im not sure if you can turn it off, but i know youre working with those new 3 views and they must be 2000 or better wide.
should not be having pixelated bg's with those.
last resort, i found out recently that if i reduce my 3 views to "2 color" ...1 bit or 2 bit (cant memory) it really made them look nice in max.
i generally do a lot of work on my backgrounds, drawing lines and redoing area's of detail. Hard for me to find a drawing i just pop in and start hacking.
what type of video card do you have? mines 128mb but i like the openGL better. using the vid card option causes my verts to not show up on occasion.
other than that, i cant think of much more...
remember, your finished 3d model will be MORE accurate than the 3 views, so they should be used as a guide, not as god.
plus they are generally someone's artistic interpetation of what THEY think it looks like, and are not always perfect.
